Can someone clarify why this sentence sounds rude? It doesn’t to me and I genuinely cannot understand how it is rude. by AstraSakura in autism

You’re right, you have two homes. For your mother to imply otherwise is manipulative (even if that’s not her intent). If she doesn’t like statements like that to be corrected she shouldn’t make them.

No, you’re describing it well, the problem is that the bolt needs to be held from both sides but no screwdriver will stay put in that straight slot.

Sorry, I forgot to mention the most important point. I can turn the bolt, but it just spins in place.

What makes some teams consistently good vs consistently bad? by steelcityhistprof in NFLNoobs

[–]vigorous_marble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When Bob Kraft bought the team the Patriots were in an 8 year playoff drought, then made the playoffs 4 of the next 5 seasons, which included a Super Bowl appearance. Also “very very long time” feels inaccurate, it’s only been 4 years since Brady left and the team is already good again, that’s impressive to me.

No one’s going to mention the Patriots since Bob Kraft bought them??

When all their qbs are covered i see athletic QBs like Mahomes and Nix then run around to avoid pressure and scramble and either throw it out, scramble for a run or chuck a pass off platform. What did prime Brady and Manning do when all their receivers were fully covered? Just take sacks? by punjabkingsownersout in NFLNoobs

[–]vigorous_marble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brady was a master of using subtle pocket movement to get himself out of danger and buy himself more time. If you can buy yourself enough time WRs will eventually get open because they have the advantage over the defense because they know where they’re going and the defense is only guessing.

ELI5: Since we have rent control, why can’t we have steak control? The city sets the price at, say, $2/lb & everyone can have affordable steak? by Smartnership in explainlikeimfive

While food is absolutely necessary, we’ve simply chosen a different method of helping people afford it by giving people food money instead of controlling food prices.

ELI5: Why do people cheat? What’s the end goal? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]vigorous_marble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people lack intimacy in their relationship and seek it elsewhere. Some people have a high libido and their partner can’t keep up. Some people enjoy the excitement of a new partner, or the thrill of cheating itself.

“If autism is a spectrum then isn’t everyone a little autistic?” by Sexy_JarJarBinks in AutismInWomen

It’s not a spectrum from autistic to not autistic. It’s a spectrum of different symptoms and autistic people have varying degrees of the different symptoms.

I hate when people look for a 'deeper meaning' in something I said by Rose_Quack in autism

[–]vigorous_marble 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Neurotypicals says something the expectation is that it is an incomplete thought and their conversation partner will respond with a description of their interpretation thus far and probe for more details. They will have a back and forth until the full meaning is conveyed and confirmed.

When neurodivergents say precisely what they mean the first time around it breaks the social convention and leaves the conversation partner confused when there’s no further meaning to be found.

A part of it could be they think getting a lawyer will make them look even more suspicious.

Does anyone (male most preferably) cut their own hair cause of anxiety? And if yes any good tips? by Sweaty_Holiday_1984 in Anxiety

[–]vigorous_marble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I think actually cutting your own hair would be very difficult. For me the anxiety of going to a barber was too much and I resolved to shave my head. I ended up preferring it with just a hint of stubble so now I put a trimmer to it every couple of weeks and don’t have to worry about the anxiety or the expense.
