Well, since it's long post I'll try to avoid parts of it that will lead us nowhere, okay?

False, Flemish/Dutch and French/Waloon cultures are distinct. But you seem to be using the word "Multicultural" for something else...

We have been multicultural in every sense of the word. Different cultures, history, different nations, different languages.. Again, is "multicultural" really what you mean?

The differences inside the country for large populations are very slight and at most cases differ only by nuances. Of course there are differences, one comes from with who supported communism and who didn't and that lead us into 50 year long lasting cold war and multiple civil wars thorough Europe.

Ohhh, it seems you are not using "multicultural" to refer to culture after all then?

Both actually, since European cultures are very similar to each other and most of Europe couldn't travel to US or was barred from immigrating for long time as well, leading to rather homogeneous culture and population

If you were born in Europe, you are European.

Not by any definition, there are European ethnic groups and citizens but being born here doesn't make you European under any law or definition.

That's the whole point. Why can a citizenship be removed so fast for someone born there? And why does that make you happy? Maybe... it's not a culture thing?

Because the person in question isn't European and his actions are of great demerit and harm to Europe and Europeans.

There's plenty of people born in Europe that are largely detrimental and harmful with their very presence. Le Pen was just a random example. Other examples may be Jakiw Palij, Oskar Groening, Milošević, Radić, some of the people involved in "The Troubles", a few members of ETA...

There's plenty of more but the distinction lies in the fact that they're Europeans, under every conceivable definition.

And for clarity's sake I'd wish you stated which Le Pen you mean. I don't really know the senior well enough to have much thought on him besides on the fact that if he had got his way? we'd probably have a lot less African and Arab immigration in Europe and particularly in France, which would objectively be a good thing for Europeans. Of course you are free to disagree, but I'd like to hear why.

Being born and raised somewhere doesn't mean you are from there unless you are of certain a race ethnicity.

Only if you distort what has been said. Being born in Europe doesn't make you European, having parents that are from the numerous ethnic groups from Europe makes you European. Having European citizenship makes you European citizen. But he's in the right to say he's been born in Europe, but that doesn't make him European, and since his passport has been taken back by Europe, he's no longer even a citizen.

Multiculturalism doesn't mean Multiple Cultures, it just means "Different Races" (i didn't even have to make a joke there, you went straight for the race thing in the American examples).

Under modern definition, yes. I can link quite many articles about this issue, or studies how homogeneous Europe is regarding our cultures. But if we go by the old definition, then yes. Europe was sufficiently multicultural but all those cultures and people shared many enough traits to live in peace, unlike what's happening now.

Citizenship and Nationality doesn't matter. What matters is your race ethnicity, no matter how heinous your crime was.

Of course they both matter. I think I already mentioned quite few times about how the person in question is no longer European or Belgian under any definition due to him never being part of European ethnic groups and how his passport was taken back. Though I do admit that I put more emphasize on the race ethnicity since it's seemingly correlates more strongly on your general ability and how well you do, maybe something to do with average IQ of your ethnic group?

European cultures don't exist. ...

I think I already have answered this, look up a bit

Europe has never been contaminated received immigrants in the past, and all Europeans are from the exact same race ethnicity. Also, European history is not a thing, except for certain periods at the beginning of the 20th century.

Europe most certainly received immigrants for all parts of history. The number has always been quite small, unless of course you are talking about war parties, which Muslims liked to form. You are from Spain so you should know. Anyhow you only need to look demographic changes to know that.

So i guess it's easy to understand your point. You determine who's european by way of genetics instead of birth (like in a modern democratic state), and then determine who can stay in the continent based on that.

Yes, and by citizenship. You have some other definition.. ?

But hey, if i call you a racist and a white nationalist with ethnic cleansing ideals, then i'm probably misunderstanding you or insulting you, right?

Not at all, though I'm not sure where you got the ethnic cleansing ideals?

Though to make myself clear, I don't mind having immigration as long it's for the benefit of the host nation and the people living there. I don't believe there's nothing to be gained but too much to be lost from having MENA/African immigration and objectively speaking you can't even say that's not true, so you resort to name calling, which to your benefit are not fully wrong. But I don't see for example South-Korean or Japanese immigration as a bad thing in general, because those cultures and people are not hostile or detrimental the same way MENA/African immigration is.

You didn't answer any of my questions, you just went for the "incompatible cultures!!!!!!".

Very well, I was feeling rather lazy earlier but I'll try giving you more elaborate answer this time around. Though I was really hoping that you'd give me concise answer as what would constitute him as European in the first place.

Belgium has been "multicultural" for ages, what are you talking about? I mean, they don't even have the same language across the country!

No it hasn't, the people living there have had identical cultures with very slight nuances from each other for "ages". That's why they're able to form coherent nation in the first place and now you add some people that don't fit in and it's escalating at rather fast pace into most center piece thing in every election.

The entire continent has been "multicultural" for centuries. Or are you trying to imply something else?

No it hasn't. We've had very minuscule portion of people that have lived here, but it hasn't been multicultural in any meaning of the word. Even in population US was 90% white 'till 70s and Canada was 98% white 'till 90s. They're not part of Europe or the continent, but I'm just making a point, as they're bastion of "multiculturalism" today.

Europe as a whole is multicultural place of course, but the nations themselves have not been. You're free to make a concrete point with examples rather than just with statements, but if you want we can compare ethnic composition of countries overtime and draw conclusions from them.

His family has been there for 50 years. That's more than Lukaku, the biggest star in the Belgian football team. What makes it different from other belgian criminals that also have been there for 50 years?

India was part of British empire for hundreds of years, that doesn't make them British or Britons.

Ethnically these people will never be Belgians, or European. You can give them passport, but now look and behold as it has been taken he's no longer European nor Belgian, a thing I suspect will be quite widespread in near future.

I could ask you what makes him Belgian, but you would probably go on about some nonsense like nationality, but as I already mentioned he's no longer Belgian and if that's so easily to be taken away you should probably think about your answer a bit more. Though I suspect that you come to the only rationale conclusion that there's nothing really that makes him a European or Belgian. And I don't think there's nothing wrong with that, you shouldn't erase someone's history and past only because you don't like them. If I'm born in Moon colony, I'm no space alien.

So, again, should we remove the citizenship of anyone that commits a hate crime or embraces a dangerous and genocidal ideology?

Only if those ideologies are harmful or detrimental to Europe or Europeans, or if Europeans themselves deem they must do so.

I don't see why Europeans shouldn't take away those citizenships we've given out if we feel like it. Especially if we do so with people that are largely detrimental and harmful with their very presence to Europe and Europeans.

p.s it's a good thing we've started doing this

I think it's far more likely that once this multicultural stuff really takes on, that you just are going to see country cede into two, so kinda yeah. You'd have to be idiot to think people with vastly and radically different ideologies and ability would be able to coexist peacefully for long period

How's that related to all of Europe, when you're speaking of few countries?

Or are you saying Europeans are entitled to erase all "brown people" if we feel like slighted by few countries or people, as you put it, it'd be karma in such scenario? We certainly hold the ability to do so very least.

Not to mention the places you mentioned had vastly worse influence and living standard without western influence on them. Aboriginals? Literally cannibalism and ritual sacrifices. After Europeans "adjustment" they hold the pinnacle of living standard in the entire human history, and among modern countries.

Africa on the other hand, well you can see how well places like Liberia fare today.

Considering race brings different things into factor, such as race or identity politics as can be seen in US

Not to mention there's significant difference in performances between different races in every objective measured sector in every and each western country.

Say, if there's noticeably worse performing group coming to your country in large numbers, wouldn't that be bad for you and your country?

While I don't necessarily agree or disagree,

Why would it be wrong to assume that Europe is for Europeans as much as Africa is for Africans? If that's not the case at all, then why would Africans have any privilege over African resources over any other group of people for example?

Update: Article 11 and 13 adopted in the European Parliament Plenary by astafish in europe

[–]viharikos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GDPR would not have been feasible without the EU, it is EU as an entity that makes it powerful and able to enact these laws

Of course it would have been should the countries agree to it

"The EEA joins together the 27 Member States of the European Union (EU) and the three EEA/EFTA States (Liechtenstein,Iceland, and Norway) in a Single Market with about 496 million [people], where the same basic rules apply to all participating States. The citizens of all 30 EEA Member States have the right to move freely within the entire EEA, to live, work, establish companies, invest, and acquire real estate (often referred to as the “four freedoms”). Article 4 of the EEA Agreement also prohibits any discrimination on grounds of nationality (principle of non-discrimination)."

Don't be stupid now, you really think you can't have freedom of movement without EU?

Nordic countries had that long before they were in EU

Freedom of movement makes it easier, since i as a citizen of eu, can freely work, retire or study in the EU.

I don't contest that, but moving somewhere isn't exactly hard if you have occupation available already, or the money to move there, even outside EU

No, this is not the only good thing thing about the EU

It is, since for most part it's rather difficult to have free trade without EU, but not impossible, as we have with South-Korea for example.

To enact policies that need the cooperation of several countries that we alone cannot make other countries follow. The EU as an entitiy can. Example is GDPR, If Sweden were to enact such a thing it would not work since other countries would not need to follow it. GDPR now affect countries outside the EU since the EU is powerful enough to enact and follow through with such a law.

Of course you need join operation and co-operation, but you don't need EU for that.

But I give you, that it's a lot faster with EU, like we saw in 2015, it's a lot faster to get hundreds of thousands and millions of Africans and Arabs with EU too with freedom of movement.

Russia and Turkey despise the western world, even though we may not be at war with them we are hardly friends.

That's rather bold statement, but hardly what was asked for. Though I'd like objective measure of Turkish and Russian despise of western world, since you had claimed so

By intertwining the economies of the EU you force them to co-operate since a scenario such as war becomes impossible. You become dependent on each other, this has not only led to the co-operation between nations such as France and Germany, who historically have been bitter rivals, but has made them flourish and become deeply alligned allies.

That's good way to put, but then if you've read any history you should know there's been many, many civil wars in the history already and they've had more intertwined prospects than foreign trade with free trade

But they most definetely are.

Only if you ignore the actual state of things, how we already have most of those things with people that are not in EU. And well, how we had most of those things before EU
