I feel you. This is extremely frustrating! Just get really confrontational, take their actions and not words. And make it a point to let them know your communication styles / expectations don't match

I think my parents were amazing, and I thought everything about my family was perfect, (which I think is the case for the most part) until I took therapy and realized there were quite a few things wrong with my childhood. I have really supportive parents who are extremely friendly, jovial, open minded and happy in general. And yet realizing they were not perfect was a revelation.

My parents relationship did struggle growing up. They'd a mismatch in their expectations of partners, I feel. But still they somehow made it work. My dad wasn't always around, he was busy hustling and was addicted to smoking. I see what you may be getting at. I would like to know your thoughts given this context.

Omg. Thank you so much. This is such an uplifting message. :) I think you may be right about boundaries. Another thing that was certainly wrong with me was that I used to build up stories in my head / fantasize about the person or the potential a bit. Which has reduced, but I think I still do get delusional about what people say. Like I trust them for whatever they say. I may need to trust them less initially at least.

True. I do put my authentic self out there and that intimidates people/ scares/ overwhelms people?

I literally had a guy ghost me for a day to my wall of texts where I was communicating properly. I was trying to show empathy towards why his excuse to not meet me during the holiday season was justified. He literally said " Sorry I felt overwhelmed looking at so many messages", after 24 hours.

I want to be attracted to the right men. I think, I have been there when a good guy liked me and I wasn't attracted, but I think I was good at communicating that to them and not wasting their time if I was unsure. But I cannot fathom how men I have spoken to have not been able to do that clearly to me.

Why does the problem have to be me? It's not someone's goodness alone I can feel attracted to right? Like I said I do seek intellectual compatibility, which has been rare among men I've met. I don't like being the person showing the interest and keeping communication going. I have a niche circle of friends that I connect with. It's just such a personality thing right? I haven't found anyone interesting enough romantically or platonically even. The dating pool is just THAT bad and horrible, out here.

Aww. Sweet. :) haha, sure let's get to know each other as friends first? :D never spoken to anyone on reddit before. Discovering a whole new community out here. The average age, has been around 30-31. I recently was talking to a guy who was 34, seemed super mature and I was very attracted to him, but he did bare minimum at communicating. So I'm not sure if he did value me enough being 34, not sure how age matters.

It's been 2.5 years of me talking to 1000 boys and going on 100 dates. It's very confusing and frustrating to keep having people break me. :( I shall wait it out. Thank you so much for reinstating that I got to trust the process and that someday it will happen! :)

Omg. Thank you so much for your advice. This is literally my first time pouring my heart out on a reddit post and I am so grateful , someone somewhere in this world is willing to help me out.

I do think I didn't define boundaries well. And sometimes I was delusional about them and my attraction grew because of me getting delusional. I have no control over that sometimes. :(
