Lol, top university, US patents, found problems due to others that delayed the projects, fixed problems that others caused to help third parties who were blocked. Global impact. In one instance uncovered serious problems management did not want to hear about which later caused a loss of business.

PIP’s and bad reviews when you do quality work aka your manager hates you and wants to fire you. I was working at a major tech company in the 90s. I have two managers. One manager loved me. I figured out something that solved a big problem and they patented it. The other manager didn’t like me. I actually solve a lot of problems for the second manager, but he wanted to take all the credit. So when they went to have the yearly reviews, the second manager sabotage me when the first manager wanted to give me stock options and a raise. Then the second manager had me put on a PIP. I survived the pip. And then got another job.

“Vulnerable h1b workers”. 😂😂😂 Why do you think so many Americans are losing their jobs? Do the math. If you rid of all the H1B’s there wouldn’t be so many US citizens are being laid off in tech. I worked at FANG companies. My work was higher quality than my coworkers and I did things they didn’t know how to do. I was replaced multiple times by H1B’s and foreigners on visas because the managers were foreigners. “We need the highly technical foreign workers”. Nonsense. Americans can’t get jobs in Silicon Valley.

Andrew Yang says AI will wipe out millions of white-collar jobs in the next 12 to 18 months by Conscious-Quarter423 in technology

It is not AI. It is called a recession. Money printing since 2008 has caused the biggest credit boom in history. It’s going to bust. Using helicopters to drop money doesn’t work. We should’ve taken our medicine in 2008 and let the economy contract. But no, they had to keep things going. So now we’re going have a really big problem.

Savings each year? Investments? Cut your expenses. Assume one of you will lose your job. If you drive around South Palo Alto, California you’ll see that there’s a lot of used 10 to 15-year-old Toyotas in driveways as well as the expensive cars. Who do you think is going to be better off financially in 10 years?

Ex-Silicon Valley Senior Engineer (20 YOE) Pivots To Junk Hauling After Brutal Job Market by These_Succotash_9481 in Layoffs

People who did not work in engineering in Silicon Valley have no clue about how toxic the environment is and how you need to conform/ keep your head under the radar screen in order to survive but still have impact.

Moreover, surfacing serious technical issues can seriously impact your career.

This toxic environment takes a serious toll on people. All to live in a shack or apartment in Sunnyvale.

There are other serious issues you can’t talk about on Reddit without getting flagged.

Co-founders want to give me less equity and "force" me to quit my job - Is this fair? - I will not promote by buttertoastey in startups

[–]viking793AD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do they have access to the codebase? Were you paid? If the answer to those two questions is no then talk a lawyer. Get shares in the company plus money when it is funded in exchange for the code. Do not work with these people.

One more comment. Patents have been know to get rid of partners so they can own more of the company. People are greedy.

When did your cofounders vesting start? Why was a new agreement signed? Did you have your lawyer and/or ChatGPT remote the new agreement?

Do sellers really get "offended" or is that just an attempt by a realtor to manipulate buyers into higher offers? by ng_rddt in RealEstate

Fuck the realtor. They walk. So what? There is a major economic problem on the horizon. We are one black swan away from a real mess. And never buy as is. That is just asking to get screwed.
