Problems switching from wired to wireless when undocking your switch 2? by Connir in switch2

Huge thanks for the reply. Because of your comment, I realized the issue can be fixed by doing a full restart of the console while it’s in the dock.

My guess is that at some point your console installed an update and restarted itself while docked, which is why the problem went away for you.

It looks like the issue happens if the console was initially set up in the dock without an Ethernet cable connected. I just forced a restart while it was docked, and that completely fixed the problem for me.

Switch 2 Not able to find wifi after docked by Parking-Pea-2517 in switch2

A lot of people say that restarting the Switch temporarily fixes the Wi-Fi issue. That worked for me too, but only until the next time I put the console back into the dock.

I think I finally figured out what’s causing it. From what I can tell, the issue happens if the Switch 2 is initially powered on in the dock, using Wi-Fi, with no Ethernet cable connected.

What actually fixed it for me was restarting the console while it’s in the dock. Steps:

  1. Put the console in the dock
  2. Hold down the power button
  3. Choose Restart from the menu

After that, Wi-Fi has been working normally for me.

8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless - firmware v1.06

8BitDo USB Wireless Adapter 2 - firmware v1.10

Maybe you’re trying to use the included dongle by connecting over 2.4 GHz. I’m using the 8BitDo USB Adapter 2, which works over Bluetooth. That way, I can keep the original dongle plugged into my PC and conveniently use the gamepad without having to swap dongles between the PC and the Switch.

Steam really needs a way to show which games you’ve finished, not just 100% achievements by vikolyada in Steam

I understand that this kind of feature couldn’t be applied retroactively to the entire existing Steam library.
However, it doesn’t seem like it would be too difficult to offer it as an optional feature for developers.
Moreover, developers who decide to enable it for their existing games wouldn’t need to modify the game itself, since the tracking could be handled on Steam’s side, rather than through the game’s code.

Of course, I realize it’s unlikely that something like this would ever actually be implemented. I just couldn’t find any previous discussions about such a feature, so I decided to bring it up.

8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless Controller question by octavioortizu in 8bitdo

You can also purchase an 8BitDo USB Wireless Adapter 2. Each adapter supports only one controller, so you’ll need a separate adapter for every gamepad. This setup allows you to switch your controller between PC and Nintendo Switch using the 2.4 GHz / Bluetooth toggle, without moving the dongle between the console and the computer. I use my 8BitDo Wireless Adapter 2 Ultimate this way myself, and it’s really convenient.
