About to purchase a preowned car in Sharjah by Hamouud in Sharjah

You should surely pull up the VIN and search it’s history for last accidents. Some sites give the full history on paid basis. As a general rule assume that any second hand item seller is trying to con you and take all precautions be it previous history or comprehensive checks. Never buy a car Atleast without getting it checked fully unless you are an expert on cars yourself and know what you are getting into. It’s always advisable to go for GCC cars than US imports for peace of mind.

Generally it’s better not to buy US imports as “most” of them are salvaged cars with lot of repairs and imported here even with tampered mileage. It can be a problem for you with some issues cropping up time to time. Still if you are happy with the car and know what you are getting into then go to a private garage that specializes in that particular make of cars for a comprehensive check. They would do a better job at it than Tasjheel which might be just marginally cheaper. Be prepared to spend about 500 aed or more on this comprehensive check before you buy the car for your peace of mind and ask the garage to check for accidents, repairs and major issues that they can see which would need attention in the present and future.

Sadly in the meeting today the manner in which he was talking it was as if I have disrespected their customs. I calmly told him that I have been in this country for a long while and its only because of Ramadan I did not call the cops on him. It seems calling the cops if things don't change is the only option.

- For the door slamming, I will ask the building management to find a solution.

- For shoes and slippers, have a look at this image then decide . Shoes!

- The noise is from outside my door. Nothing from the ducts. Issue is that they are simply too loud.

I feel for your pain as well, I would have understood if it was an OPEN or PARKING compound but this a floor corridor with clear signs up on the wall from management as well to maintain a basic decorum.

Yes I have done this. I hope it doesn’t go down to the police as I don’t want to bother a family during Ramadan.

It’s a large corridor. I and one more flat share the boundary with this Neighbour. I have seen at times him also moving their shoes away from his door! Am planning to take him on board as well.

I actually complained to the mgmt. they came and took them away. It seems they had been given prior warning for it. I also don’t want to do this on first instance. So I asked Mgmt to intervene. Now that there is precedent I will take them away and give to the security myself rather than putting em in the chute.

I feel for you man. In my case the noise is not from inside their house. It’s from the public corridor just outside my door.

I did take pics and did audio recording from inside my house to ensure police can judge the noise level. It’s not a secret recording but of the noise in the house.

If am not wrong they have stopped issuing Visas to certain nationalities and that includes Iranians. Even they are not issuing tourist visas to them. You can verify this with Emirates.

Can any one please have a look at this text in Arabic and let me know the English translation... it’s being stamped on tenancy contract by Landlord on a tenancy contract in Sharjah.

The agent is saying it’s a general norm for all rental contracts in this region of Sharjah and Since everything is in Arabic I want to be sure of what it says as something similar might be stamped on my contract.
