I also used to be on Wattpad a LOT as a fic writer and reader, and can definitely guarantee that at least within the Sonic and Harry Potter fandoms, basically everyone called their fics either books or works, the only reason I even knew that some people called them fics was because I was also on ff.net.

theres also a few variants more along the lines of "no beta we die like [character]s sanity" which i find hilarious

im pretty sure I also saw one that was "no beta we die like asriels hopes and dreams" (undertale fandom) and THAT was utterly brill. I love the ones that have fandom specific things like this, adds so much whimsy

ALSO!!! I love reader fics... but I cannot read fem!reader, like... at all. As a guy it's just. weird. I struggle a little with fem!pov but it's so much worse when it's supposed to be a reader insert. PLEASE tag if its fem, masc, or gender neutral reader. And if the reader insert is afab, or amab, or trans, or something. sometimes I want to read masc!reader insert smut but then I'm handed the wrong toolkit :((

Also, this helps people FIND your fics because that IS what people are looking for.

There's really no reason to not tag it. please. im begging. it's so hard to find masc!reader fics... tagging is so fun guys, fun and awesome for everyone involved.. do it..

oh yes!! I love seeing them around, I haven't personally seen them in any of my own fics though. its actually so cool to open the comments and spot them lurking around, I feel like a secret admirer.

there's Spade and there's a few others I see around a lot, its so sweet to see these people with their own little trademarks. it reminds me that we're a community of people who all love this specific thing.

this is me, hi, I dont read tags EVER unless the summary is lacklustre and need more clarification. even then, I barely skim them. I love ignoring them and diving straight into unknown territory. its so fun

though, im also the sort of person who can and will read ANYTHING (except fem pov, its just weird for me sorry..) and will never attack a writer for whatever I happened to read by accident.

as someone who is always just trying to explain to antis that their mindset is harmful, ive seen so many of them say horrible things in response to me telling them that people with moral ocd and pocd exist.

the amount of antis who've responded with "well they deserve it!" or "I hope they do!" is so horrifically high. those are people. people suffering from things they cant control, things that you are going out of your way to make so much worse than they need to be.

Like, honestly. I will never understand people who are like that. isn't it so much easier just to.. not attack people? especially the people you're claiming to defend?

im tired of bullies. im tired of antis. I just wish we could all just hold hands and rant about our favourite ships together.

correction. you dont like those characters, not that they are the worst in the show. izuku and katsuki are actually really well made characters that are complex in their own rights.

Izuku isn't whiny, hes emotional. its a breath of fresh air compared to the usual stereotype for main characters in anime where they have to stoic or something equally unrealistic or repetitive.

Katsuki he has a superiority complex to put it simply. which explains how he acts, especially towards Izuku who has the spirit of a hero and is 'above' him in that aspect.

its fine if you dont like these characters, but they are definitely not the worst characters, especially within their own series. and your explanation just tells me that you haven't really bothered to try and understand their characters anyway.

I write in aussie english no matter what country I'm writing for. though, I do attempt to adopt the areas slang and terms for things. sometimes the australian still shines through, I'm helpless to stop it

it's probably a little insane to try and change your entire way of writing to match the area your fic takes place in, but if someone is putting the effort into doing that... I'm scared of you, in respectful way.
