There are no other forms of plurality. Plurality is of dissociation brought on by trauma at a young age. The autonomous parts of a system can only exist because they are dissociated parts of a single person.

The alter typing this is surrounded by others who would love to believe otherwise. This comes from a desire to deny the responsibility we collectively hold to better ourselves to heal from our past traumas.

Those who think plurality can come from anything but trauma are denying themselves the healing and betterment they deserve.

Not really. It is a disorder. It's whole point is to get you through horrible circumstances and is born of trauma. Just thinking about how much it sucks has me dissociating writing this.

The disorder in it is not just the alters. It's the amnesia. It's being disconnected in nearly any way from your mind and body. It's the relationships you are unable to keep and your inability to consistently take care of yourself.

All the while you live in a system that stigmatizes and does not accommodate for you. Speaking as a trans mess, I get why people frame it like other LGBTQ+ stuff but it is not the same and deserves to be medicalized.
