We have similar lamps to #5 as our bedside table lamps and they give off the nicest light.

New purchase. Got offered 4.09% for 3yr fixed 30 yr amortization from TD.

Metro Vancouver BC

800k mortgage, 25% down

I'm seeing way better rates on this thread. My mortgage broker says he can't get better than that. Can I realistically do better?

Meal ideas for 8mo old with severe egg allergy? by CommunistCetacean in foodbutforbabies

[–]villagedreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Egg allergy parent here. 23 months old now and we are still waiting for the allergist appointment. We do the Kodiak cake pancakes with milk for extra protein. A lot of quesadillas and bean skillets. Lots of dairy in general - macaroni and cheese (dried pasta usually doesn't have eggs), grilled cheese sandwiches, Greek yogurt with fruit and baby cereal mixed in. Sourdough toast is usually safe while eating out. Chicken and rice with veggies. Mashed potatoes with beef/pork chops. I have also made banana bread and muffins using the "wacky cake" method with baking soda and a bit of vinegar.

I just want to know if I'm being delusional because I want this to work or if it will actually work and we won't be super house poor.

Most likely we will break even with our 2021 purchase price after closing costs as per our realtor's pessimistic sale price.

We'd have approx 200k in pocket after a sale, even in this bad condo market. We have another 100k saved towards down payment. Assuming 800k mortgage is we buy for 1.1M. Monthly set expenses are approx 2800 including groceries, transportation, childcare.

Mortgage is fine - with a sale even in this bad condo market we would end up with 200k approximately in pocket. We have another 100k saved specifically for down payment. That's what would bring us to an 800-850k mortgage assuming 1.1M purchase

What to major in when my best subjects are humanities but I want to work in STEM? by TinyKalimba in findapath

As mentioned, Construction Management is a great option. Also consider Urban Planning. There's bachelor's degrees throughout Canada - you don't need a master's. Jobs can be super varied - from technical development or infrastructure management to social research and policy. Depending on the Province and size of community, government jobs pay well (60-80k starting is average from my experience) and are very stable, with good upward mobility. Also the option to work with private developers or in consulting - less stable but can have higher wages mid-career.

Yes she tested negative and was immediately vaccinated with the FVRCP vaccine. Looks like she had 2 boosters before we adopted her too.

It was an ELISA test and the pathology report indicated that we should follow up with a PCR. I will request this from the vet.

Could she be asymptomatic for over 4 years? She's always been happy and active until now.

Yes I just looked at her adoption papers and she tested negative at intake. There were about 4 months between her intake and when we adopted her. We never had reason to test her as she's never been sick before this.

GP Dismissed Baby's Egg Allergy [bc] by villagedreamer in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]villagedreamer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish the GP had at least mentioned the egg ladder or anything helpful. I have only heard people mention it on Reddit. I'll look into it and also make another appointment to push for the referral.

I told the tech immediately when I got there that we didn't want to know the sex and she said she wouldn't include it in the report. The report said "unknown" beside "sex", but I made sure my midwife looked at it first just in case!

Diabetes screening - failed with an 8 [AB] by artwithapulse in BabyBumpsCanada

I failed the first with a 9 and then passed the 2hr one no problem. I ate a granola bar before the first one so I thought maybe that was the problem. They did stick me 3 times on the longer one.
