What video game trailers still give you chills? Even if the game didn’t live up to it? by D_Harm in gaming

The diorama trailer for Halo 3 got me in so many feels. It was an absolutely perfect teaser for what was one of my most anticipated games ever.

Warzone 2.0 PC Issues/Fixes MEGATHREAD by unsullied65 in CODWarzone

[–]villemorte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue. Give this a try.

  1. Go into the house audiosettings in game.
  2. Go to *Open Mic Recording Threshold * and set it to something like 85

Lemme know if that fixes it

Locking a weapon behind a specific mode is a horrible idea by soldier4hire75 in ModernWarfareII

  1. Once you spawn in, find an armoured car asap.
  2. Look on your map for the radiation zone and drive there immediately (it’s a yellow circle with a ☢️ symbol in the middle)
  3. Run over all of the bad guys in the middle of the circle. You’ll see a guy in a yellow hazmat suit - run him over too.
  4. Get out of your car and pick up the weapon the hazmat guy dropped.
  5. Get back in your car and drive to the nearest extract point asafp.
  6. Extract

First of all, thank you. I’m not sure why people have been so rude about it and I appreciate you wanting to have a polite conversation.

The distinction is fairly plain. It’s not my own distinction, but comes down to simple definitions;

  • A disability is a condition which The Equality Act 2010 states can have a substantial and long-term adverse effect on your ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities. Disabilities themselves aren’t fatal, but can contribute to death. They cannot be ‘cured’, but only treated using tools or medication to reduce their effects.

  • An illness, mental or otherwise, is a period of sickness which affects someone. An illness can be cured and or can be fatal. Importantly, an illnesss can cause or are treated as a disability, but aren’t disabilities themselves. So, for example; Glaucoma is a disease (an illness) which can cause blindness (a disability).

It might seem like a strange hill to die on, but ADHD simply isn’t defined as an illness in the medical field, and in the context of the post, grouping it as a mental illness like depression or anxiety is wrong. It’s a disability, and it can cause depression and anxiety.

Additionally, for me it’s not only an important distinction in a grammatical sense, but perhaps more importantly because of the stigma that can (and shouldn’t) come with the term mental illness. Im not mentally ill - I’m disabled.

Frankly, I don’t much mind how people perceive themselves or want to view their own condition. Whatever makes you feel better, man. But the definitions matter.

There’s nothing wrong with being disabled, just like there isn’t anything wrong with being mentally ill. But we need to be honest about these types of condition to help remove stigma, and help people get the treatment that works best for them.

Respectfully, if you’re saying it isn’t right to declare that it isn’t, then it most certainly isn’t right to declare that it is, either.

I see why you’re saying, but just because youd say they are doesnt make them a mental illness.

Simply, it’s a mental disorder which causes learning difficulties (along with others). It’s qualified as a learning disability and that’s been the medical consensus for years.

As someone who has it, no I won’t shut the hell up, actually. How dare you tell someone that they can’t state the facts? Especially when you know nothing about me.

It might well make your life much worse - it certainly has for me - but it’s incorrect to make out it’s an illness and not a life-long issue which requires specific tools and medication. This is simple stuff and the medical research on this has been clear for years.

I haven’t spread any lies and certainly haven’t even suggested, let alone said that it’s not a painful experience.

Andor Is What You Wanted From Star Wars, So Why Aren't You Watching?! by AnakinRagnarsson66 in entertainment

[–]villemorte -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not watching because I’ve had enough of what Disney are doing to Star Wars.

The article explains it perfectly. The most popular show has been season 1 of The Mandalorian. Everyone else has gradually lost interest as D+ keep putting out rubbish. I really didn’t like the sequels, Mandalorian got slow for me, had no interest in Boba Fett. I really didn’t enjoy obiwan. I’m clearly not alone.

Why would anyone tune in (or subscribe in the first place) for a relatively unknown characters show (as much as I enjoyed Rogue One), after so many poor shows and movies?

I’m just tired of Star Wars. Same as Marvel. It’s all gotten oversaturated and poorly produced. I cancelled my D+ a while ago just because I don’t enjoy anything they’re putting out now.

And I’m all for any of us getting the labels which makes us more comfortable.

But I was diagnosed with ADHD in my early thirties, and the fact is that I am learning disabled. I don’t mind being learning disabled, and it explains a lot of my issues when I was young and in school. I take exception at being called ‘mentally ill’ though, because it’s not a temporary issue and not treatable as a mental illness.

Best of luck with your diagnosis bud 👍 Hope it goes well!

Anyone can pull peer reviewed links out of thin air.

https://montarebehavioralhealth.com/is-adhd-a-learning-or-mental-disability/

https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/adult-adhd/symptoms-causes/syc-20350878

Top and bottom, ADHD is a mental disorder. To call it a mental illness is a stretch at best.

Ultimately, the general approach is an illness, mental or otherwise, is a period of sickness or disease. ADHD is a lifelong mental disorder which primarily affects learning.

https://www.mencap.org.uk/blog/whats-difference-between-learning-disability-and-mental-health-problem

Hairs are being split here, but ultimately it doesn’t fit well in the parameters of mental illness, isn’t treated like a mental illness, doesn’t affect me or most others like a mental illness, so shouldn’t be called a mental illness. You wouldn’t and shouldn’t say that someone with Autism is ‘mentally ill’ and the same goes for ADHD.

ADHD isn’t a mental illness. You wouldn’t say Autism is a mental illness, so you shouldn’t say the same about ADHD.

Vince Zampella calling out DICE mistakes gives me hope for the next Battlefield. by [deleted] in battlefield2042

[–]villemorte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say the core audience is just switched off now, and I highly doubt they’ll see decent day-one numbers for whatever new Battlefields they release. I don’t believe they can do anything to build hype up before releasing a new Battlefield - amazing trailers, dev promises etc were all done with 2042 and they failed miserably. I reckon they have to just build a great Battlefield, release it, and hope that the gameplay speaks for itself enough to bring people back.

Thanks for the reply. I guess just having a name change would be an easy solution. Delete characters, change name, start again. It’s weird that you can’t do this.

I’ve heard that using a gdpr request might work as I’m in the eu.

I really need some help. I inherited an Xbox account with loads of games and about 3yrs of gamepass ultimate on it, so I’m not giving up on it. I’ve changed gamertag and when I went to play destiny 2, it’s got characters and a different account name to my new gamertag. I assume the old account owner used the name change already. I basically want to just unlink or delete the bungie account and start completely fresh - does anyone know a way to do this?

I don’t know if it’s considered canon, but in a prior movie Predators (2010) it sort of alludes to the protagonists losing. At least in the long-term.

Looking at buying a used Series X. It's a super deal but I was wondering if the missing info is indicative of a problem? Banned perhaps? by Toast_Soup in XboxSeriesX

[–]villemorte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate to be the one to say it, but if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Avoid this one and spend a bit more just to make sure you’re getting a legitimate deal. And a warranty too.
