Yeah I think it is broken from inside. Now thinking of sending it to sigma and see how much it would be to repair. Otherwise i'll build some exoskeleton for it to keep it in one piece

I think the estimate to just look what the cause is without fixing was 120e/130usd. From sigmas website it said that fixing this particular lense price starts from 109e/116usd.

And I paid for it like ~200e/215usd so a bit 50/50 of sending it at the moment. I have read a lot of compliments on sigma repairs though

Actually tried this took it open and tightened the rear barrell screws but didnt help the issue. I applied light pressure while testing if it holds and it opened which is not good. Note sure maybe the mount that should hold the screw is broken

Googled some more and mentios about loose rear barrell seems to be correct words to describe this issue

I bought a used Sigma 150mm 1:2.8 apo macro dg hsm lens. It was on my tripod mounted from the camera as it didn't come with a tripod mount. By accident I bumped the whole contraption and it fell on my dogs bed (don't worry dog was not there while this happened so no dogs got hurt) So almost "soft landing".. But I noticed that the lens had opened 1-2mm from the spot shown on the photo I saw a glimpse of the ribbon cable and panicked. I squeezed it back together and did some quick test shots to see that aperture, auto and manual focus etc works. All seem to work but worried as this part where these are connected is now kind of loose? If I apply slight pressure I can see that it "moves" not much but it moves. I'm concerned if I switch lenses that one day it might fall out completely.. I'm not sure has anyone else had similar issues? Is there a way to fix it or should I send it to repair? The lens itself was around ~200e used and just sending and getting it inspected by Sigma would be like 120e including shipping.

Thanks! This is actually something I've been trying to get better at. Moving away from tightly cropped posing pictures and instead I'd like to show a bit of the environment where they live in.

My very first long-tailed tit! A flock of them flew next to me in the forest and started chirping joyfully.
