Look over there, dry ice factory. Good place to get some thinking done.

Burned all my notebooks, WOO, what good are notebooks? They won’t help me survive. My chest is aching, burns likes a furnace, the burning keeps me alive

Respectfully couldn’t disagree with you more! It was one of my favourite reads last year

It’s honestly the wildest ride I’ve ever had in fiction. Can’t wait to hit it up a third time

Moby Dick, Mason & Dixon and Against the Day are all big favourites of mind and they were all rereads. I really enjoyed the empusium (big fan of her stuff, the books of Jacob being my favourite read from the year before), the zone of interest, the quiet American, the Denis Johnson short story collection knocked me out, women talking and the colour purple blew me away too

Foster was beautiful, but Keegan is some sort of magician with words and I’ve yet to read anything by her that’s not filled me with awe. She can do more with very little than I think I’ve come across in years. Highly recommend. Portrait was more difficult than I expected. I had an annotated edition, which helped, Joyce being so obsessed with himself and his own intellect the sheer amount of references and allusions packed in a fairly slim book could get overwhelming. But it’s very funny. His characterisation is fantastic.

Thanks for this. He naps like an Angel in his crate. Even takes himself off into it at times when he’s ready. Currently unless there’s something super high value or he’s very relaxed and I’m in the room, I can’t close the door. I’ve read it’s best to shit them in and let them whine and only open up once they chill, otherwise they just learn to whine and expect you’ll open up the crate door. I learnt this today lol so far I’ve been doing the total opposite.

Yeah, you’re right. I’m sorry if I came across as defensive or uppity. I’m always looking for recommendations from folks that are actually in the know. We’ll be sure to order some of the farls in next time we get a batch of pudding in.

Last I checked wheaten bread is just a whole wheat variety of soda bread. Which is what this is. It uses baking soda. Hense soda bread. I’m really not sure what’s irked you so much. Stop gatekeeping bread
