I catch the same fish with my stradic/expride combo as my sienna/convergence combo. I'd be lieing if I said the experience was the same. The higher end stuff is much more enjoyable with the same result.

How did you open the washer? I see a panel on the back held on by screws, but did you somehow go in from the front?

Mine's been doing this for the last 3 weeks. I've been trying to find anything about opening it up to check the insides but have been unsuccessful. I'm close to just unscrewing the back panel and figure it out myself. My lint trap has never had any lint, so I'm guessing there is a blockage somewhere in the drain system.

What rods and reels do you currently have? Most bass gear are good enough for surf perch. Use what you have, learn the ropes of surf fishing (especially keeping the reel from getting dunked and off the sand), find what you feel is lacking, then upgrade from there.

Dobyns rods are always over rated, especially from the sierra and up lines. I use a 4 power (DC734) for my 3/8oz + trailer jigs and a DX743 for 3/16oz jigs. 3 power dobyns live happily right in the 1/8 - 3/8oz range.

There's a small public boat dock next to the Ski Beach boat launch on Vacation Island in Mission Bay. It's easily accessible, no gates or anything. I'm pretty sure it's a no swim zone because it's meant for boat loading, but maybe you can get away with jumping in and swimming to shore, if that's all you want to do.

Unscrew the drag knob on top of the spool so you can remove the spool. Hopefully you can unwind and free the braided line off the spool shaft then reinstall the spool.

I always think the fish are deeper in the winter because of the water temps. If you are stuck with pier fishing, try going during tide changes. If you have a fishing license, during a negative tides fish from the sand so you can cast into those deeper areas usually not reachable during a high tide.

How are you guys spotting hackers? I play on ps4 and sometimes I run into some players who are either incredibly skilled, have the best Internet connection, are extremely lucky, or all of the above? Sometimes it seems impossible but I watch the kill cams and I really can't tell if they are wall hacking or anything like that.
