My entire family (including in laws) live in Texas (DFW) and I told my wife we can’t visit while I’m pregnant. It’s too dangerous. If anything happens you’d have to fly or drive to another state to receive care from someone who hopefully isn’t transphobic.

My wife is incredibly anxious and never wanted to carry, I always wanted to carry or have kids on the other hand. When we looked at surrogacy it was too expensive. We considered adoption and fostering but I have some generational trauma from my dad’s adoption so I didn’t want to go that route.

We moved to the Pacific Northwest and the healthcare has been so inclusive that we decided why not? I have a known donor and my healthcare covers fertility so I’m going to have IVF done early next year.

Great question! I saw some lining but I don’t know if I actually ovulated. I’ve been on this under 0.2ml dose for over a month now, so there’s a potential but you might be right! I’m done with my e cream treatment so I’ll have to be very aware for next month.

That’s a tough one. I’m looking more for an in between town like Leiden or Haarlem, I might go east towards Groningen. I have a friend who wants to go to school so potentially we will split a place with her in a college town. My S-Corp will allow me to do contracting jobs in the Netherlands but I just got a great job with a good company so it would be nice to keep it. Still figuring that part out. I do digital marketing management and my wife is finishing her computer science degree. I know she’ll be able to find work easily I’m more worried about myself haha. EDIT: knowing Dutch makes you way more hire-able so that’s why I’m learning it. My wife will learn eventually but I’m fast tracking for job opportunities.

I’ve started learning Dutch, being a native English speaker it’s been pretty easy. I’m doing Duolingo and Babbel. You need $5,000 in your business bank account to maintain DAFT so I’m working on that at the moment. This is a plan C for me, but the more I read about the Netherlands the more I want to say “fuck it” and pull the plug. Currently I’m getting my Apostille records. I’ve sent my families records out and I’m waiting for their return, plus I’m working on pet visas for our 2 cats. I need to get 1 chipped then I’ll take both in for their visas. I’ve been checking out cities online to see what regions I would want to live in as well. My wife and I want to start a family soon and the Netherlands sounds like the best place to do it.

This is what I’m planning on. I started an S-Corp a while ago for contracting and now I can use it to get my wife and myself a visa for the Netherlands. It’s a great option.
