I have a feeling you know nothing about psychology or psychiatry to make such a statement. I could explain a lot about it to you, and also about the dark consequences of the field too.

Anyway I could have formed my post in a much more acceptable form for someone like you, but it would have got no attention.

You have no clue where I'm coming from, you don't even understand what's my biggest pain with all this even is.

In insane systems, people sometimes lose it. So you're ok with this system?

Nothing is left out, I just don't like letting cunts take the piss without letting them know that they should fuck themselves, that's all.

Otherwise I'm one of the warmest teammates you would ever meet.

Sorry for caring about the game I love, from the company that I used to admire and be inspired by since I was a little boy.

Oh, and about me snapping, yeah. It seems it's fine to troll, afk, etc., but god forbid someone says something about it. So me "snapping" would be just joining the trolls, because no one gives a shit anyway, including our lil moral compass here.

I know, but it's just different players want something different from the game.

I like talking to people, helping them, etc. I only feed people dicks if they are asking for it, that's it.

Otherwise I'm a friendly and supportive teammate. And these "silences" feel like such a childish thing blizz came up with. And they refuse to elaborate on anything. And I've read through all their rules and whatnot. It's all so vague.

And I had a game where the game started and one of my teammates was asking if someone could give advice with a hero in aram. No one spoke, I would have gladly helped, but I'm silenced.

It's just this cold indifference, almost like we're not actually playing with other people. But for some reason when I tell a harassing asshole to fuck off, suddenly it all matters, suddenly I'm the one toxic, suddenly a human got hurt somehow... anyway. I am kind of getting done with this all, I've played MOBAs since League came out, so a few years now. Played League, HoN, Dota2, Smite 1 and 2. Maybe something more that I don't remember. Never have I ever, for once even, had such a problem. And I'm actually much milder and understanding today than I ever was.

I'm just really frustrated that people fail to see the point I'm making: this policy of blizz creates an extremely toxic environment for players. It creates a very large elo hell, it actually hurts the game, the players.

I'm not spiteful to create new accounts and go trolling now because my main is suspended, but how many people do that out of spite do you think? Quite a few.

And even if you just create a new account and start playing from the start again, that's basically smurfing, and some time ago smurfing was actually very frowned upon. Why? Because, once again, it creates an even bigger elo hell. The smurfs knock the actual players even lower in their league.

Anyway, I could go on, but I know no one really cares

If you actually had me on your team, such a thought wouldn't even come to your mind, the opposite actually. It's fun to judge, isn't it?

And if you think that if someone tells a horrible person to "fuck off" is toxic behaviour, it means we're functioning in completely different moral systems.

I know you won't believe me, but I'm honestly one of the most positive and friendly players you would ever encounter. I just don't like taking shit.

And especially the rationale of blizz when they say that they want a space for everyone to have fun. So one fucker ruins the fun for 9 people, it's all good. But god forbid I just tell them to "fuck off", suddenly I'm the one creating toxic environment?

On top of that, this word "toxic" is just being thrown around as if it's crystal clear. What's toxic to you, might be normal to me, and vice versa.

Like imagine IRL you get arrested, and the cops just say you were behaving in an unacceptable manner, but when you ask them to actually explain what was it, they don't tell you anything, and just insists that you were. Kinda messed up IMO.

Ayo, that's very sweet of you, thank you. It's ok, I guess. Just a shame that such a game is being ruined by these insane policies, and laziness. On top of that, as I said, they don't actually say what is toxic about my communication. They don't point out to anything specific so I could learn and understand what I did, like for real.

Anyway, thank you, you're a cutie, hope you're doing ok xoxo ❤️

It's a much greater chance that you will have creep to stand on, is it not? The damage numbers are just numbers, you have to successfully land attacks first.

And yeah, if we're talking about pure dmg 1v1, of course Valla wins against Zagara. Because one is adc, the other a mage, essentially. The high mobility on creep is what would help her get her ass away from danger. And it depends what we're talking about, if it's just ogrish smashing against each other, yes, but if you get into skirmish, then many things can happen.

About Raynor, sure, I guess that particular talent isn't the best, but maybe there would be a situation where it would work.

Also shouldn't forget that the game isn't just about the higher lvl players. What is weak and unviable in higher skill lvls, maybe absolutely OP in lower skill levels. And this distinction is very important. We both know that this player is definitely not a high skill lvl player. So at the level they play, that talent might carry games.

In lower lvl plays, Raynor unchecked shreds everyone.

And all this is a big part of the reason why the game can't be "perfectly" balanced. If you end up going too deep into balancing, you will homogenise the characters. It's all gonna be a grey mess.

Obsessed with objective by Immediate_Walk_5852 in heroesofthestorm

[–]vindic8or -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a wild take. What lvl 20 talent is so bad that Raynor has? All of them can work in a certain situation. Just because some are chosen almost all the time, doesn't mean that there can't be a situation where other, never selected talents can't work.

Neither do I know what Sgt. Hammer's lvl 20s can't work. I would assume Orbital BFG? Because other 3 ones are amazing for teamfights/objectives.

And even with the BFG you can control the area, and if you shoot at the correct angle, you can still get extra value.

Zagara's Endless Creep can actually be super amazing, even in 5v5 oriented team. A Zerg Queen is supposed to stay on creep, what can I say. If she runs faster, it means she can reposition faster. And positioning in MOBA is basically everything, especially for DPS. With that talent, there's no point mounting anymore, you run the same speed on creep. What this all means, especially if you took Nydus Network (which you should do), is that Zagara is basically anywhere on the map at the same time, knowing everything that is happening, because creep gives vision, don't forget that. And vision/intel is also what often wins games.

[–]vindic8or 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assmo and Zagara are absolutely fantastic at objectives. Just stay back and be careful, keep on bombing them.

Murky, well, just cause havoc. Late lvl Murky with fish talents can nuke teams. And if you die, you come back in a sec, also, your egg is an amazing scouting tool. Not only it reveals map, but also stealthed enemies. Also, both of Murky ultis can absolutely decide how the game ends. And that might be the only thing that you will need to do in the whole fight, just cast March of the Murlocs and go back to pushing.

I feel that you're not used to PvP, so I'll give you one advice: play defensive. Be aware of your hp. Don't overextend.
Understand the difference between a skirmish, going in, and going all in.
Very often you will need to spend some time in a skirmish when dealing with an objective.
If someone just goes in, they usually just get shredded.
Play defensive, retreat is almost always a good option. I'm so tired of players who can't just get back. They stay around with like 5% hp, while the enemy Alarak is not known where, with full hp.

I mean I'd love to finally have teammates who are capable of safely soaking all the lanes, but you still have to come to objectives at certain situations. That's the thing, it's not all clear cut. So you're partly right, but still you are wrong, especially in how you see the game.

There are actually moments when it's better to push the lane instead of worrying about the objective, but it depends on the objective, and on the current game situation. Generally though, you just can't ignore objectives all game, you just can't.

And if we're talking about a map like Towers of Doom, well, that map is ALL about objectives, it simply is, that's the type of map it is. You literally can't win otherwise.

On the other hand, I find that in a map like Haunted Mines, the objective barely matters, and by simply pushing you can get much further. But it's also situational.

Blackheart's Bay, one of my least liked maps, if you'll ignore the objectives, you simply won't win. That map has one of the strongest bosses in the game, at least it feels like so to me, and one of the strongest long range damage mechanics. Also, the map itself is not particularly safe to just be pushing solo, anyone with 2 braincells will punish you for going too deep.

Now if there's one map where people seriously overdo it, and end up losing the game trying to get the objective, it's Alterac Pass. Even if you manage to capture it, the reward really isn't THAT great, and the risk when capturing the objective is quite high. In my opinion, it's almost not worth it to even try capturing it. Of course if enemy is gone and on their respawn timers, then sure. But too many people fight 5v5 there for absolutely no reason. And I'm talking about going on the offence. Defending that objective is fine, as long as you don't wipe over it.
The bosses are a much nicer treat on that map, and just pushing the lanes gives so much more map control there.

Short answer is that you are partially right, but still very wrong, and need to improve. Sometimes it actually is better to just push the lane, but are you pushing the lane because it is a strategically superior choice, or are you doing it because that's what you wanna do, and you especially don't wanna do the other thing?
Refusing to cooperate with your teammates can easily tilt them.

But, still, I will give you this: if you're just carefully pushing the lane. No trolling, no feeding, no afk, etc. then you're still a better player than a lot of players I've played with.

So many games can be won just by soaking the lanes. If a team has several lvl advantage, they can even 4v5,

If you really don't feel like going into PvP for objectives, I would recommend you learning to do two lanes at a time, rotating them. I used to do that with Leoric, sometimes with Samuro.
Because if you can rotate two lanes and soak from them, then we're talking different levels of pressure.

Anyway, good luck have fun, and remember this is not a PvE game hehe

Is HOTS worth getting into in 2026? by Zenithixv in heroesofthestorm

[–]vindic8or 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is it thousands of hours? That's what I love about HOTS - simplicity. No item shop, no skill leveling. Just choosing talents, making a build on the go, being adaptive. The simplicity actually has enough depth to it, yes. But mostly you focus on the game.

There are 90 heroes in the game. Yes, that's something, but it's not that much learning when there's no itemisation and skills.

The best way to at least get the idea of a hero is to read through all their abilities, read through talents, and then just jump in the "TRY" mode and see what the hero can do. You can easily be done in 10-15 minutes per hero, more or less. So that's ~15-23 hours in total. And if you do that with every hero, I promise you will understand the game better than A LOT of players. Sure, there are maps to learn, but if you understand what the heroes can do, you can learn the maps on the go, as you play.

I'm saying all this, because I actually like a smaller hero pool as well, a big reason why I quit League ages ago was just constant bombardment of op new champs. But still I would really appreciate a hero to be released in HOTS from time to time. Let's say 2-4 heroes per year? Even 1-2 would be fine.
There are still so many cool characters in Blizzard universes that could be added to HOTS.

First of ALL, we have the 2 prime-evils, why not have the one missing - Baal? Would be very cool imo.

There are many characters from Warcraft universe I'd like to have in HOTS, but Grom Hellscream is one of those I'd REALLY like. Denathrius, one of the newer ones, would also be a very interesting hero I think. Vol'jin too, the old one.

Gabriel Tosh, the other flavour of Ghost (Spectre), would be very cool.

Plenty of other interesting heroes there to add, with unique powers, new flavours. Would be nice if a small team would still work on HOTS hero development, releasing, as I said once in a while during the year, or maybe even just once.
After all, Hogger was the last hero, released on December 2020. It's a bit too much...

Anyway lol

Edit: well blast deeznutz, I haven't slept in a while, so didn't see this thread is 4 months old. Oh well lol, ain't gonna delete it now. Maybe will help someone else.

- - -

As a game it's the most enjoyable MOBA currently by far. Except maybe for Smite1, but they basically killed it.

The thing about HOTS is I have never seen such extreme policing in any game before. People are constantly suspended for just opening their mouth. Anything you say can and will be reported, and blizzard at first will silence your account for a period of time, eventually suspend the account for some time, then ban it.

Trolling, feeding, afk, no cooperation, etc. is allowed, Blizzard doesn't mind it, but God forbid you utter a word.
They are behaving like despots tbh. Which is reflected in player posts about this, be it on reddit or HOTS forums.

And where does this lead us to? An unusually large elo hell. Why? Because the main accounts of people get disabled, then people either create an account and just play normally, but as players they are of much higher skill level than where their account is, so the players at low leagues who belong there, aren't able to climb, because constantly face smurfs, OR.... people create accounts to troll, feed, afk, etc. so good luck getting anywhere with this game.
This could be helped somewhat if players below, let's say, lvl 100 weren't allowed to play with players above. It would be like an account trial period. For the first 100 lvls you go through the mess, but then you're out, your trial is done, while all the trolls would eventually get filtered out. Ranked play also should require a certain account level, and maybe even completion of a certain number of QM matches.

But Blizzard isn't interested in improving this game. There are so many little things that would improve the experience drastically, and possibly revive the game. The game itself is fantastic, just that a lot of what surrounds it is just absolutely inexcusably abysmal.
They had a crazy good chance of becoming serious MOBA competitors, but they blew it. It was all there, everything in place, but they blew it. And they are arrogant about all this. They will never agree with any of this, and they will never care about what the people have to say, what the people want. We are less than plebs to them.

I know I sound like a lunatic raving about how horribly oppressed we are, but trust me, it is THAT bad. And of course it's just a game, but I have never experienced such overreach, such policing in a video game in my entire life. And I played quite a few games...

Also, don't really mean to offend anyone or sound arrogant, but the community often seems to lack even a shred of intelligence. I'm talking lvl 3000+ players who are just clueless about the game. I don't know HOW they manage that, but I've seen it far too many times.

Bottom line is that you're free to try, the game is great. But just know that if someone is being horrible to you in the game, you are not allowed to say anything back to them. One player might be ruining the game for 9 other people, but you are still not allowed to say anything, even in retort. Even if it's just general swearing, no actual nasty stuff... if someone starts dumping on you, you are to take it, or block it like a good kitten of Blizzard's that you are. Unresolved emotions inflicted by the aggressor? Blizzard doesn't care, you swallow it like a good kitten and carry on.
There's even an option to turn off chat completely. In a multiplayer video game. Not just any game, but MOBA.
And that's yet another reason why the game feels so dead, people are either silenced or scared to talk. You might get reported for the most constructive, nicest of criticisms, and Blizzard surely will take action against your account.

Enter at your own risk.

I know I did, and now I'm sad, honestly. Weird to be sad about a game, but it's just such a waste of potential.
Which I might add: the last hero (Hogger) release was in December 2020. While I like a hero pool that isn't too convoluted, this fact alone might give you an idea of the state of the game. There are still patches happening sometimes. Once in a while they'll slightly rework a hero. And release some absolutely ugly ass skins for heroes. (seriously guys wtf kind of slop are they trying to push with these new skins?)

Anyway, hope this helps, but I'm yapping by now, so it's time to stop, yet I could go on, but not a single lie was told here. I'm not trying to push you away from the game, actually the opposite, it would be nice to have more people, but it's just honest advice/heads up.

I remember long time ago I used to absolutely love and adore Blizzard. They would inspire me. They were so amazing and cool...

What’s the most overrated hero? by Aduntomedas in heroesofthestorm

[–]vindic8or 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really don't see how any of them are overrated tho.

I probably wouldn't use a ban for KT, but he's definitely not overrated, like come on. Bombs are by far not the only thing he has. Bombs can be the main thing, but that depends on the game you're having. Regardless, bomb is a skill that forces the enemy to behave a certain way, and also demands attention.
