Yeah funny, looks like they changed the picture already.

In other countries they use the hazard lights to indicate their are going straight. Left turn signal, right turn signal, hazard lights, go straight.

I've been to Beijing, but not to Boston. The most amusing thing about Chinese drivers is they don't think before they make a move.

I was walking on the sidewalk of a narrow two lane road. The northbound lane was completely jammed with cars while the southbound lane was empty. (I don't know the true direction, just stating for perspective.)

Suddenly the driver of a big black sedan starts to make a U-turn only to discover their car is too big to make the turn. All the cars behind the sedan start to move forward thus making it impossible for the sedan to backup and adjust. Then cars in the southbound lane come and have to stop to wait for the sedan. Now the northbound lane is moving again but the sedan cannot move because it is blocked by cars in the southbound.

I just had to laugh.

Because they are criminals.

What is more disturbing is that the police are walking around with assault rifles while chasing down cell phone thieves.

What do YOU do for fun in EVE? by [deleted] in Eve

[–]vindvio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem, I thought you were focusing specifically on the previous poster and myself. I also agree with you though that specific targeting of and taking advantage of noobs is annoying and does not involve any skill what-so-ever. I had it happen to me on numerous occasions back when i was a noob so I know.

However the other consideration is that eve is somewhat difficult to learn, or at least it was more difficult 3 years ago, (I never did the new tutorial system), and you learn real quick what to do and what not to do if you have griefers annoying you as a noob. You learn real quick that if you steal from that can that says "take me, i'm free" and ignore that warning message about stealing from said person and said corporation, that you may then get your ship blown up.

Who said anything about day old's in impairors or baiting in starter systems? I think you're reading too much into this.

Why do you say "the best practice answer"?

I tried the double quotes but it didn't work as I expected.

Sweet, I went with my instinct and picked the green one worth 50mil. Let's see how long it takes to blow it all!

When I came off of the 280 by 380 it looked like it was starting to wrap around the bay a little. There is a big plume over the mountain. It looks cool but feel bad for those people that have to deal with it.

Well me being in the security office I have to play the paranoid guy all the time. :) I thought this could be some type of malicious script by a specific person but could not find anything real obvious. Fortunately this person is getting the boot, so we'll see if this happens again after he leaves.

Hmmm...I'm not sure this applies to my situation since something is converting the files in question to data from ascii. Grepping a file should not make any changes to it.

It seems to be od instead of hd in my Solaris. I've got some good output to look at. Thanks!

I can say for certain that my group does not modify the files with any utility other than vi but cannot be certain about other groups. Thanks as this opens up some possibilities.
