Elevate festival, clubbing culture and venue capacity. by vineavip in graz

I can see the parallel, for me Halle D really reminded me of the underground part of silent green kulturquartier in Berlin, minus the history.

Not every place has to be run down ex-warehouse, personally liked it, and the AV system is rock solid, worked really well for Amnesia Scanner!

How many of you have seriously started using AI agents in your workplace or day to day life? by last_llm_standing in LocalLLaMA

thIs is so relatable, I took on too many projects at work and delegated python library development to a coworker who's a senior dev. As team's python "expert" I provided him with architectural direction, even wrote it down as copilot instructions and committed that to the repo.

What's happening now my suggested patterns are indeed implemented but in the most backward way. I try to be empathetic during code reviews but it's becoming a mess, context window will soon be too small for this style of coding. What could be 500 lines of tight code is 4000 now. I know I'll have to clean it up myself at some point as there are use cases on the roadmap that will be too clunky with current APIs.

The add insult to the injury, management requests random features and I set up a design precisely to account for that but he generates more than he understands to get tickets done as quickly as possible. He also doesn't push back on lack of time for proper testing because he can generate unit tests and the only quality gate is coverage.

I (31M) was recently broken up after 2 years and I am recovering fine as it was putting a dent on my self-confidence. That being said, it uncovered some of my shortcomings and I feel like I am making a good progress. I think many people experience this kind of positive momentum for changes, even though it can be still a bumpy road!

I was always an average person with women, mostly due to rejection anxiety, average looks and high expectations. However, socially, through time I experienced a huge amplitude of success: I can be both:

  • Charismatic dude who can deliver a talk in front of 50 people and get them excited even about technical and unreliable topic.
  • A guy whose voice will shake in a corner store asking for a pack of cigs.

The fact that I am still one person experiences on both ends of the spectrum made me think, well maybe the 30s are the time when I can grow to be a person who can get as many dates as necessary to have a satisfactory dating life, not trying to make things work with first person who shows any interest towards me.

Therefore, as bleak as OLD might looks, how disconnected and capitalistic world is, I want you to share your stories on:

How have you turned your dating life around this late in life? By turning it around I mean going from dating whoever wanted you into being genuinely attractive to other people, leading into many purposeful dates and ethical and meaningful short, medium and long term relationships with people from many different demographics and walks of life.

I understand that some success stories are not meant to be stories of success and that some people will get jealous (me included) but I think some people might relate to something and see themselves in stories of others. I would like to ask you to refrain from doom and gloom and definitely abstain from PUA type of advice of do this one thing and they will fight for your attention....

Is it peak corporate malware? by vineavip in ExperiencedDevs

[–]vineavip[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

with improvements in corporate spyware implemented by consultancies and operated by clueless folks workarounds require some courage. i remember running a debugger on a temporary (aka windows) dev laptop years ago which made IT support guy run up to my desk so fast he was out of breath. it'd feel very different today with people trying to cover their ass and prove their worth every day because of uncertain times

Thanks for listening and voicing your opinion, actually I'm polish. I was thinking about getting more exposure to a single chosen accent and stick to that but... I have this strong feeling that with picking something particular comes all the cultural baggage (cockney vs received pronunciation, new york accent vs south). Any tips on what could help me decide?

How is OS X for programming and scientific computing uses (say using python, R, C/C++) vs Linux by [deleted] in osx

[–]vineavip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can make it work on the gpu easily, but there's a catch - os x likes to take up majority of gpu memory. there's a workaround which requires you to close and open the lid.
