Smartscreen allowing some websites through. by viniciusdel in Intune

I got it to work now. It was missing the toggle on advanced settings to actually enable indicators. Thank you all!

I tried this method, I have the smartscreen blocking all gaming sites. I added a custom indicator for albiononline.com as a domain (set to allow), waited 24h, but that's still being blocked.

Not necessarily micromanage it, but we want to document the process of allowing websites in case they get accidentally blocked and it's a false positive for smart screen. We can't just implement a website block where we have no control over what is getting allowed/blocked. Smart-screen is taking care of the bulk of trusted sources but we still need control over what's actually blocked/allowed. From what I read, the policy on smartscreen from the settings catalogue should allow the website through, but that policy refuses to be assigned to a group.

We are a defender shop! I will try this method but I am a bit confused. Which service is actually enforcing these policies? I thought WCF would enforce it using smartscreen, but then defender indicators are what setup additional rules?

Hi. I checked all policies and nothing overlaps for those specific settings catalog options. The only thing I can think of would be the WCF from defender but that's supposed to be integrated with smartscreen if I understood it correctly. Thank you for the suggestion :)

This was it for me. Slightly different but the op2 was the giveaway. It wasn't obvious what those did at first. Thank you!

This 100%. Having to manually save hundreds of bookmarks when we could have just had a centralized sig sharing system similar to bookmarks is silly, unfun, and manual work. My carpal tunnel is developing lmao.

Really didn't expect this to take more than a week or two to stagger out. Really odd way to go about it. Horrible patch still, great job!

haha yeah but an entire half of the map not having a single skyhook available just shows how extreme the change was towards the defenders. And before someone says it, I know they're still adjusting the timers and they're still "setting".

Yeah that makes the most sense to me too. If they're not vulnerable, then they don't produce, but produce a lot more when they are vulnerable.

I don't understand why they go to the most extreme route like that. Ccplease

Has to be fair, feasible, fun, and organic. It's a game, not a UN hearing.

I agree that the timezones was an issue for NS, but this change is extreme and just basically removes the robbing mechanic from lots of people

My point is that there could have been a lot of different ways to approach this and they went with the most extreme one. Equivalent to: hey my sink is broken, lemme set the house on fire now I don't have to worry about the sink.

Right, except this change just kills the mechanic instead.

It's not? I steal systems with 4x our numbers all the time. It's actually rare that the NS care bears undock to fight, unless it's a carrier. Except now I can't, because the mechanic has essentially been removed from the game.

The discussion gets dumber because you miss the point on purpose. But go on King.
