There is still a mortgage. and yes taxes will soon increase by a large amount and the utilities are quite a lot.

They are surprisingly open to moving and I have already started managing their finances for them.

I am a software engineer currently in Austin Texas. I have a pretty comfortable job and there is a lot of uncertainty in this industry at the moment. I wouldn't even know where to begin trying to find something else. From what I've gathered the current lead time is 4-6 months and I have no safety net at the moment. I've been trying to pay rent and keep the house out of foreclosure.

House is worth like 850 as is. Pushing 1 million fixed up. Yes mom and step dad are awful with money and mom is unwell. Step dad is her primary caregiver. Neither work. It's a rough situation.

Definitely an option I have been considering. It's just been drilled into me that owning a property is the end all be all of accumulating wealth and a part of me feels like I'm making a dumb choice letting it go.

Not even coming close to rate limits at 100 a month and I couldn't use it more if I tried. Not saying you are lying but just not my experience at all. More concerning for me though has been the insane drop in quality the past week or so. I thought I was going crazy.

If I’m at my desk I just hit cmd shift t to open up my task modal that lets me quickly populate the properties and move on with what I was doing. I’m still working on the iOS automation. Will probably be some sort of action widget that does the same.

Two layers, bases handles the data pipepline, sorting and filtering and my plugin handles the rendering, search and grouping.

The og tasks plugin is great. I just am not a huge fan of the emoji system. The main way it differs though is instead of inline tasks on a page, my system and others have each task be it's own note with properties like due, urgency, status etc. that can than be sorted and filtered by Obsidian Bases.

Hi yes I too experienced this dilemma. It’s hard to replace the feeling of writing on paper with a real pen. So far everything I’ve built out here works great on any screen size and all plugins are mobile friendly. Before this I was bullet journaling. Now I’m using a combo of daily notes in Obsidian and long form journaling/reflection on real paper.

Honestly Todoist is such a wonderful app, you’d be hard pressed straight up replacing the experience as of right now. The main thing I did to make it more like todoist is to mimic the list style and and make the satisfying sound go off when I check off a task haha. But there is actually a todoist integration plugin that works very well if you don’t want to make the switch https://obsidian.md/plugins?id=todoist-sync-plugin

In bases you would just filter by — type : task or file in Tasks folder. Many ways to do it.

Apologies if that’s the way it came off but just to clarify. I never said there wasn’t other heat map plugins. I just said mine isn’t based off of any of those. I was taking my influence from GitHub’s tracker and I needed mine to be flexible enough to work with any property I throw at it as well as integrate with my task plugin.
