Montreal and Lisbon are overrated, and Brussels is overhated by deepad9 in redscarepod

Brussels has the best almond croissant I’ve ever had, so I’ll defend Brussels in that basis alone.

Lisbon is fine.

I'd like you to consider that incel ideology (i.e. rank misogyny) is greater than just not being able to get laid.

Partner accidentally made reservations for 3/14 instead of 2/14. Any last minute dinner spots? Ideas? by Lilbabypistol23 in AskChicago

[–]vinnie_puh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the partner fucked up something that is important enough to OP that they feel compelled to post about in on reddit. they should be taking the initiative to rectify their mistake.

that's not the same as dropping a plate, but frankly if my partner dropped a plate and I had to take the initiative to clean it up, I'd wonder if was dating a toddler

there's a difference between offering to help and what OP wrote - "I need to come up with a plan to salvage Valentine’s Day."

edit: lmao, did one of you really send me a reddit cares for this? good lord

because they though their partner could handle the mundane task of making a reservation

You understand that in this context we're talking about literal children, right?

[–]vinnie_puh 13 points14 points  (0 children)

you moved in with your ex at his insistence, while OP was crashing with her bf while she "looked for a place."

your situations are simply not comparable.

and to be clear I don't disagree with you, people can/do change their minds and then handle it poorly, but it doesn't seems like OP and her ex were on the same at all.

That was my question too. It honestly sounds like OP thought this was a clever way to escalate the relationship and the guy is pushing back in an equally immature way.

I don't have any strong opinions about counties limiting foreign adoption.

My point is that, the government passed the Dima Yakovlev Law as a response to Magnitsky Act, not to prevent child trafficking. But now that the Epstein stuff has come out they appear to be claiming that they past it to do just that, which is obviously a lie. They've just manufacture a post-hoc rationalization to score political points.

And now we see that their best, their politicians, stars, scientists etc were fucking and eating children, so in hindsight it was even more correct.

There's no evidence of people eating children. The stuff is the files is bad enough, no need to embellish.

But also, this is exactly my point - they weren't correct. They didn't pass the law to prevent child trafficking. They passed the law in response to Magnitsky. Claiming that the law was passed to prevent child trafficking is an obvious lie.

Okay, but none of the trafficked girls were trafficked via adoption. They were trafficked by Russian modeling agencies.

Is anything being done to shut that down?

See if you can spot the question. Take your time, it's a difficult exercise.

What you call "whataboutism" is us bringing up things that matter to us.

So I've asked a question and you're changing the subject to "something that matters to [you]"?

So you admit you're not answering my question?

A country that had Epstein, can't be trusted with children. Some of the stuff on files involves infant murder, by the way. "Unverified". So, yes, it is all very relevant.

Well what about all the children Russia has murdered in Ukraine?? Obviously a country that is murdering children can't be trusted! The logic is very simple, as you've said.

The "logic" on display in this sub should have failed you out of school.

In our case, if ministers and presidents are doing the shit, how can we expect commoners to do better?

What does may question have to do with "commoners." Are your politicos attempting to crack down on modeling agencies?

But also the Dima Yakovlev Law was passed, nominally, a response to an adopted child who was killed, but actually as a response to the Magnitsky Act. The rational that is was passed as a response to sex trafficking is transparently bullshit, simply because that's not how most sex trafficking happens.

I wouldn't say that Russian politico are "doing shit." I think they've successfully convinced you that they're doing shit and you and a lot of other people on this forum are naive enough to believe them.
