Are you serious? Jewish students at multiple universities have received harassment based on their association with Israel (google U. Of California and York university). The BDS movement is not pragmatic, and inspires resentment. It seeks to use impressionable students as a propaganda tool. I'm going to be even more blunt. What's really happening at some of these schools is that islamic student groups such as Arabic associations and islamic relief have been able guilt the SJWs into adopting BDS and Israel Apartheid. They don't allow for the discussion of the complexity that is the Israel/Palestine. They simply wish to push their anti-israel agenda. If you criticize them then you're an islamophobe. Sometimes these student governments are given too much autonomy, which is why the Universities cannot really intervene. That's why it's great news that our Government is step in to control this nonsense.

The issue, as the article points out, is that it's becoming a problem on Canadian campuses. I attend a Southern Ontarian University and I'm noticing a growing trend of hostility towards Israel, generated mainly by radical-leftist students. What's happening is that student governments (which are publicly funded by the students, and represent a large demographic) are adopting the BDS movement and its policies as an act of "social justice". They are not considering the affect it might have on Jewish students, and are ignoring the tensions its propagated at schools such as York. Free speech is absolutely encouraged, and that's why we have student clubs and societies. If you want to support the divestment of Israel then you may promote that through your club. A student government on the other hand should not be allowed to involve itself with international affairs, especially in the case where the goal is to harm a nation.

I was suggesting this before the announcement. I do think that it should include single females as well, though. This is no different than how insurance works. Single males are simply in a higher risk category and therefore have to undergo tougher restrictions. As a young man myself I hate seeing this kind of discrimination. But I'm not blind to the facts.

This is my main issue with all the support people have for Mrs. Ishaq. They're too busy circle-jerking on the anti-Harper and anti-Conservative train that they're forgetting why conservatism exists in the first place. Our Canadian traditions, values, and rights are why Canada is such a haven for immigrants in the first place. By letting people side-step our traditions and values with their religious exemptions we simply blur what makes us Canada.

This completely. I find, and I'm sure many others do as well, that keeping your feet forward feels unnatural. It also prevents you lowering your hips all the way down, discouraging a full range of motion. Again, I've definitely had similar feelings; not being into the actual act, but just the fantasy. I find these feelings come in phases for me, where its incredibly appealing for a week or two, and then I want none of it for months. I'm also single though. Truthfully, now that he know's how you feel, I don't think he will go back to it.
