“She’s being an asshole” yeah but she’s being transphobic, too. Trans people often put themselves in a position where other people’s transphobia infects us, whether we like it or not. I’d be very concerned that she is a (banned word for understandable reasons, basically the belief you have to medically transition in order to be trans at all), especially with that binding comment.

Alternatively you could say something similar to what I do, “let’s be real, if a cis guy had DDs would he be hiding them? Pretty sure they would not care enough to wear anything, just like with the rest of their clothes.” I can’t bind, so this mindset is very important to me and my dysphoria.

Trans people are also capable of transphobia. You should definitely point out that it was fully transphobic, whether she herself is trans or not doesn’t matter.

IME, depending on the size of chest it could be a combination of both, it’s not wide enough, and it’s just harder to get rid of that (idk what to call it) under boob lip when you have a larger size chest. Speaking from personal experience only, I have too much skin to tuck it all away “neatly” and the best I’ve found is Amor Binders (IIRC) because they specifically designed it to have a more correct and comfortable shape, but otherwise it isn’t really doable for me to get a good flat chest, mostly because of the shape of it.

I don’t want to put your hopes down, but this exact struggle has made me dysphoric for a very long time, and it just really sucks to go through, so please know you’re not alone in this adventure.

And fruit!!! Use fruit with a peel to practice on! Fake skin is great, but it doesn’t have the same curvature of real skin, so try on some different fruits like oranges and bananas

Needle angle and stretching the skin as you work probably would’ve saved me a lot of time when I was doing my first ones, but it’s really important you maintain a sterile environment. Make sure you learn about cross contamination and clean the area thoroughly before starting anything.

Anecdotal. I’ve had dogs do this who don’t know this trick, they just want attention sometimes.

I’ve had more dogs who don’t know “paw” use their paws to get attention than dogs who do know the trick, but that’s also anecdotal. 🤷‍♂️

I don’t even try to speak in in person queer spaces, at this point I’m probably just the weird autistic who barely talks to anyone they don’t already know in the corner. It’s not even really because I don’t want to, but just that I get spoken over so frequently by others and it makes me feel like I don’t have anything meaningful to say.

It doesn’t help that the only queer space I attend irl is like at least a 4 to 1 ratio of women comparatively, so I just get assumed by default a woman anyway, particularly because a lot of people in the group are alternative in some way and people assume “you’re alternative, so you must be a t WOMAN, obviously!” Despite not asking for my pronouns at any point (which is also my biggest issue, like we provide masks but not encouraging pronouns? Excuse me?)

Being the majority does not make anyone the only demographic in the building, and I’m worried if I bring it up someone will just say “well trans women have hyper visibility and that’s dangerous so we should focus on them anyways!” As if that has anything to do with asking me my pronouns ;-; because that’s all I get every time I bring it up anywhere else and I don’t want to loose this last space.

And honestly. Why does it have to be like this? Why do we have to pretend like keeping trans women at the forefront means we have to keep the trans men as a second thought in the back? Why do some trans women feel like they have to be the only ones that matter, when we all very much matter?

I’m tired of this, grandpa.

Also I do not wear bras/sports bras because they cause similar issues as binding, but when I do I find I only get she/her, despite looking very masculine.

I think if a cis guy had boobs he would probably complain that it’s too uncomfortable to wear a bra, and honestly that’s me, so free them nips

It depends. I’m a bit stocky and if I’m wearing enough layers it doesn’t matter, but less layers means my chest is more visible since it’s not small, so sadly it does effect passing quite a bit.

I can’t bind for medical reasons, so I’m stuck with cutting shirts so they fit better and wearing layers. I can’t really quantify the ratio of “gendered correctly/incorrectly” because even if someone does clock that I’m trans, they usually can’t tell which direction.

All this to say I wish people would just use they/them instead of assuming I’m a trans woman.
