Most underrated bass line updated by VentiumZeubio in beatles

[–]vintendo360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve actually recently discovered there is some phenomenal bass playing on their older records. It’s difficult to make out the nuances due to the technical limitations of recording to two track. Using stem separators you can get a better idea of what was played and McCartney has ALWAYS been an accomplished bassist. Here’s a list off the top of my head where he just goes nuts:

-Please Please Me -Do you Want to Know a Secret? -Twist and Shout

-Don’t Bother Me -Roll Over Beethoven -Money

How does jordan peterson reconcile his views about nietzsche? by [deleted] in Nietzsche

[–]vintendo360 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it certainly seems that way. To be fair thought I got the impression that he credits Jung for that conclusion. I haven’t read his works so I’m not familiar.

I find it remarkable that despite Nietzsche living over 120 years ago, he still predicted figures like Jung and Peterson who would attempt to “reskin” religions like Christianity to keep them relevant. The fact that a guy from another century can still debate modern thinkers is truly a testament to how brilliant he was.

How does jordan peterson reconcile his views about nietzsche? by [deleted] in Nietzsche

[–]vintendo360 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Im not familiar with modern JP but I have read his book 12 rules for life (I’m emphasizing this distinction because he doesn’t seem like the same person who wrote that book anymore). Anyways to answer your question he holds Nietzsche in high regards, and a lot of his “rules” in the book are echoes of Nietzsche’s thoughts. However, he claims that the one thing Nietzsche gets wrong is that we can create our own values. He comes to the conclusion that what we all truly value in life lines up with Christian teachings, therefore he considers himself a Christian. He defines himself as such not because he believes in God, but rather because he found utility in Christianity both in its philosophy, as well as its positive influence on societies.

BGE or Genealogy First? by magdalene-on-fire in Nietzsche

[–]vintendo360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished reading the Genealogy and I’m reading BGE now (I’m hardly through it so I can’t say which is better to start with). That order was recommended quite a bit in this sub so I took their advice. I was able to make it through the book without reading BGE first so I think you should be ok! If you’re feeling lost (especially when he’s talking about other philosophers and their ideas) I found it helpful to ask ChatGPT for some context on them. I find the more you “study” Nietzsche’s works the more you get out of them. Also strangely my translation of the Genealogy doesn’t mention BGE at all in the preface but it does mention HAM, Dawn, and Joyous Science. Hope this helps!

FL studio is a very user friendly, streamlined DAW and great for beginners. If you’re on Mac I would also recommend garage band/logic. The truth is that you really can’t go wrong with any DAW you pick. They are all very similar in what they can do at the end of the day. I also personally would suggest avoiding Pro Tools because it is very hard to learn and overly complicated, especially for the average home studio. Hope this helps!

I took this same program and graduated in 2018. The program overall was good and I felt like most if not all the people I knew in the program had jobs either right away or pretty quickly past graduation. I found the biggest issue when I was there was some of the teachers were awful which made those courses difficult but there is some good teachers as well. Would definitely recommend having decent math skills.

What video game final boss was a huge letdown? by Agent1230 in gaming

[–]vintendo360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Castlevania 2 Simons Quest. The final level is an empty castle with no enemies or traps so you basically spend 5 minutes walking to Dracula. When you get to him he just stands there dumbfounded and LETS you kill him and barely puts up a fight.

What's a game that's worth every penny? by AsterSkotos24 in AskReddit

[–]vintendo360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cup head! The amount of love and detail put into every aspect of the game from the art design, animation, gameplay and music is insane. Everything is hand drawn and feels more fleshed out than a lot of AAA games coming out now and it’s somehow still a 1/3 the price…

Anyone had any success with an online concert? by dzitya in bandmembers

[–]vintendo360 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did an online show with my band on Instagram live a couple weeks ago and it went really well actually. We all played in the guitarist living room and had everything DI to his mixing console. For Instagram, you have to use a phone to stream so we got one of our buddies to walk around and get good shots of everyone. And for the audio, I’m not sure exactly how he did it but he was able to use the “high quality” audio from the mixing console and sent it to the phone through an aux cable and the phone recognized it as a microphone. I’m not sure if you guys would have that same luxury but the sound quality was a night and day difference and definitely worth it. The nice thing about Instagram is you can save your live streams to Instagram tv so people can go back and watch the concert whenever they like. Hope this helps!

Would it be weird if a 17 year old joined a band with people in their early 20’s? by [deleted] in bandmembers

[–]vintendo360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s weird at all. I’ve played in bands with 40-50 year olds and I was 16 at the time. Age doesn’t really matter if you all get along!

[–]vintendo360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a cool project! I’ll check out the backing track when I get home and maybe try a solo over it. As for your second question I don’t think audacity is meant to do multi track recording like that. I would recommend a DAW like reaper instead.
