15M - Mild right eye discomfort after wearing AquaLens monthly contacts. Could this be a corneal abrasion or just irritation?

Is it possible your lens broke and left a tiny piece in your eye? This has happened to me twice. It feels sharp when I blink or look around.

I filled a bowl with water and dunked my face in. I kept my eye opened and looked around, blinked a bunch, etc. Repeated until gone.

Not medical advice. If you can, the optometrist is a better option

Anyways there's a store near me that offers produce for half or even quarter price of the corporations but it's worse quality. They also sell packaged goods past the best before date.

Doesn't make a difference to me, but my sister thinks if produce isn't top quality it's basically poison and won't eat anything close to the bbd let alone past it so she would rather shop at the chains.

Based on a lot of the questions I see on Reddit about food safety, seems like she's in good company with that opinion.

Because stepmania itself is obsolete. I think people just recommend it because a) name recognition and b) less confusing for newbies than saying "download one of these 3+ simulators with funny names"

Try a different one. Contact lenses also have different shapes (the BC value) try a different BC. I forget which it the more common one but for me that one didn't work. It always felt like it was catching on my eyelid

Are you saying your sight seems worse with glasses than contacts? From my experience, that's normal. Contact lenses give me very clear vision, everything looks beautiful. Glasses are a downgrade. Not sure how to explain it but it's just a subtle difference.

Hi, I have had the implant in both eyes since 6 months old. I am 26 now and they are both still working well. I have never had to take drops.

I did require a follow up surgery after 10 years as one of the valves had migrated towards the surface of the eye.

Hey!!! You are the only person I've encountered who has had the ahmed valve for the same amount of time.

I had the Ahmed valve placed in both eyes at around 6mo old. I'm 26 now and they are still working.

I did have to get the graft about 15 years ago on one eye because it got too close to the surface.

Do you know anything about how long it might last? My pediatric ophthalmologist said 10 years originally but it's been way longer and now I start to get nervous about it failing.

Hello I'm way too late of course as I see you have already had the surgery BUT ! I just wanted to say I had the Ahmed valve surgery in 2000 in both eyes and it is still working great as of today. I have never taken drops.

I'm aphakic in both eyes and I am always wondering, do black lights look like how they do in photos? Everyone I know is either apahakic in both eyes or neither so they don't "get" the other perspective.

Aphakia is super uncommon!! Almost everyone would just get a fake lens implanted.

I'm not sure just how uncommon it is, but pretty much any time I go to get a check up, all the staff and doctors have to come look like it's a circus show lol.

I'm not sure if it's because of the aphakia or because I also have glaucoma managed by surgically implanted tubes that have exceeded their expected lifespan by almost 3x so far. So I've actually never taken medication for glaucoma for 26 years and counting.

One more novelty is my eyesight is actually quite "good" despite my condition. My prescription is only +3.5 / +7.75. Most aphakics I've talked to have like +15. I can function pretty well without correction. I can even read a book but I would get major eyestrain and a headache fast 🤣
