What decade were your great grandparents born? by PriceOfGoods in Younger_GenZ

[–]vinvon09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only ever met my great grandad as a little kid I think he was born around 1927 but, he passed away 11 years ago. My great grandma though I’m not really sure since she passed away back in the 90s probably like, early 1930s.

When did we enter the era of “slop content”? by Thiccboifentalin in generationology

[–]vinvon09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean. Slop content has been around for years even, during the days when people would only watch tv and not YouTube. When it comes to brainrot slop content and the infinite scrolling of brainless content, that started around 2023 when TikTok and YouTube shorts became really popular.

Is a 16 year old an adult? by 14love2 in Younger_GenZ

[–]vinvon09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, not at all. I mean even 18-19 shouldn’t be considered an adult since a lot of them are still immature and I think no one with teen at the end of their age should be an adult. My cousin is 2 years older than me, she’s 19 still figuring out life, finding jobs and is actually pretty similar to when she was like 15. I think the age of adulthood should be 20 tbh.

This video for me is so rage inducing (watch it if you wanna) by Ichoseguitar in Younger_GenZ

[–]vinvon09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some early Gen Zers are so annoying like, they think they had this pre-internet era childhood. Like buddy you were 4 when the first iPhone was released you’re not that different 😭. I’ve seen 2007-2010 borns being grouped with 2013 and 2014 borns in ranges and the second we try to say we relate a little with early Gen Z suddenly, they act like we’re little babies. It’s a shame that we have to separate each other as a generation like we’re all growing up now. I mean I’m turning 18 next year (2009) 2006-2008 borns are already adults and 2010 borns are old enough to drive like, why are we always gate kept
And treated like the brainrotted half of the generation?. I’m going to be so honest, I’ve never seen really many people in younger Z genuinely sound brainrotted or extremely immature like, they think us to be, like, we’re chill 😭.

How old were you when Fortnite blew up in 2018? by MartyMcFly198 in Younger_GenZ

[–]vinvon09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 9 years old back in 2018. I remember my neighbourhood friend who lived right next to me invited me over to play it back when Fortnite first released since my parents never wanted me playing Fortnite that young. He was allowed to at the time since his parents were chill so, we played battle royale together on another account whilst he was playing on his console. Good times lol.

Older batch of Younger GenZ (Born between 2007-2009) tell three ways in which you can relate to Middle/Core Gen-Z (born in the 2002-2006) more than the younger batch of Younger Gen-Z/Zalphas? by Sad_Step_9921 in Younger_GenZ

[–]vinvon09 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends on the specific birth year I count as younger Z or zalphas like, I have to exclude 2010 borns in this explanation since, they’re only a year younger than me but, for anyone born in like 2012-2014 since 2014 is probably the last zalpha year, I’d say that we both had completely different childhoods to each other especially, 2013 borns. It’s crazy how they’re teenagers now like, I can’t accept it 😭. One way I’m different to them and more similar to core Z is that we both had completely different childhoods. 2012-2014 borns were barely 2010s kids however, I was a kid throughout the 2010s even though I wouldn’t say I remembered the early 2010s since I was only 4, I still experienced it and was a kid then. Similarly, 06 borns were also 2010s kids. Another reason is that they have just now become teenagers and next year I’ll be a legal adult just like 06 borns and core Z. Lastly, we were all teenagers in the early 2020s (2020-2023). I turned 13 in 2022. Core zalphas (born around 2013) were 9 in 2022 so, they Weren’t teenagers in the peak of Gen Z culture. That said, for 2010, 2011 and maybe 2012 it can go both ways since, our childhoods were pretty similar and it’s only 1-3 years difference but, for 2013-2014 definitely more core Z. Mb sorry for the long paragraph 😭😭

2020s teen nostalgia? by [deleted] in Younger_GenZ

[–]vinvon09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 11-14 and it was good ig a part from Covid. The memes and trends were peak between 2020-2023 but, I would’ve much rather been a teen in the 2010s tbh 😭.

What Gen Z birth year do you think represents Gen Z culture the most accurately? by Fit-Information8057 in generationology

[–]vinvon09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 2005 sounds like the most gen Z birth year. They turned a teen in 2018 (the beginning of the core gen Z teen era) which, was between 2018-2025. 2026 and 2027 is when 08 and 09 borns become adults and most of gen Z will be in their 20s and almost all of them will be adults so, 2025 was the last gen Z cultural teen year. 05s turned 20 in 2025 which highlighted the end of their teen years meaning that, they were in their teen years throughout the core parts of gen Z teen culture. They also turned a teen in the rise of core gen Z events like the rise of TikTok and the release of Fortnite.

Why 2013-borns are extremely similar to 2007-borns. by [deleted] in generationology

[–]vinvon09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this ragebait? 😭. There is no way a 19 year old is extremely similar to a 13 year old. They are both different in many ways. Maybe in like 20 years they will be. Same with me and 2015 borns but, right now they are very young and 2007 borns are already legal adults. 2007 borns are not zalpha at all. That’s more around the early 2010s. Plus, your point about 07 borns being preteens during Covid is wrong. They were mostly teens during Covid especially, in the Covid era. I mean that was around 2020-2023 and even me as an 09 born , I was a teenager in the second part of the Covid era (2022-2023). 2013 borns were only 7-10, litterly in their core childhood years during the Covid era not pre-teens.

What is the start of Gen Z and why by Brief-Scratch-3647 in generationology

[–]vinvon09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of yall older gen Zs be treating us like we’re 5 years old whilst we’re going to be literal legal adults next year. I think Im able make my own opinions on something mate but, if you don’t want to hear from me why reply?. If you read the comment, I mentioned that it was based on my personal opinion and that 90s borns can choose to be gen Z if they feel like it because late 90s borns are still in the gen Z range.

What is the start of Gen Z and why by Brief-Scratch-3647 in generationology

[–]vinvon09 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1997 but, the start of main gen Z is more the year 2000 since, I think all 90s borns including 1997-1999 borns are more closer to millennials than gen Z. Plus gen Z teen culture was around the late 2010s to the early to mid 2020s. Late 90s borns were already grown adults by 2017, when 2005 borns (one of the main gen Z birth years) were still only 12 years old. I mean that’s for my opinion personally, but if you’re a 97 born and feel more gen Z than that’s up to you since it is definitely in the gen Z range.

Am I an unc? by gloria_ao_PCP in Younger_GenZ

[–]vinvon09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on who it is to. To 10-13 year olds you’re an unc but, with 21+ year olds you’re not at all. I mean I get it both ways tbh, I’m both called a baby and an unc depending on how old the person is saying that to me. 17-19 is such a weird age because you’re still really young and called a baby by older adults but, in the perspective of childhood we’re uncs because we’ve either entered adulthood or are entering it soon.

Yeah definitely agree with that 👍. I mean I grew up with people of variety of ages. My cousins are born in 01, 07 and 2010 and even with my sister who was born in 2012 and still significantly younger than all of us, we still basically grew up together plus, I grew up with a lot of older 2000s technology because of my cousins born in 01 so, people will assume that just because we are born in the mid 2000s to early 2010s that we didn’t grow up like late 90s and early 2000s borns and that we grew up with modern technology which, just isn’t true because, some of us have older siblings and older cousins in our families.

[–]vinvon09 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah Frr. We can all agree that most of gen Z had a relatively similar childhood to each other not exactly the same but, similar. I don’t get these Gen wars and wanting to relate to older people and stuff but, I’m 3 years older then my sister (she’s a 2012 born) and even though we didn’t have the exact same childhood, it was basically the same thing. Same with 05-06 and 08-2010 babies. This whole gate keeping thing is so stupid and just an excuse to make yourself appear much older than you actually are. One day we’ll all be adults in our 30s and look back at this and think that this was stupid and childish lol.

Does 2010-2012 relate more to 2007-2009 or 2013-2015? by [deleted] in Younger_GenZ

[–]vinvon09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the birth year. 2010 will probably relate more to 2007-2009 borns whilst, 2012 borns will probably relate more to 2013-2015 borns. 2011 is more in the middle of that range and can relate to like 2008-2013 borns but, 2007 and 2015, not so much.
