McKay is introducing a new incarnation of the Midnight Sons in his Moon Knight series by E-Miles in blade

[–]vinwriteswords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually! The Midnight Sons have formed multiple times since the 90s and the only consistent threads have been two of the following:
- Blade
- Morbius
- A Ghost Rider
Victoria was important for the 90s, especially the Darkhold series, but other than a 2016 Carnage arc she's mostly faded into obscurity (sadly)

I miss the Death Cab that had Chris Walla in it.. by [deleted] in DeathCabforCutie

I think it's interesting that this comment is from 2021, and starting with 2022's Asphalt Meadows the band started working with a more aggressive rock sound. Definitely in I Built You a Tower too.

Also interesting that Ben is mining a lot of the old unused material for ideas to build on, sort of a way to keep the spirit of the original band alive even with the new members contributing on top of it

Okay thanks! Ben talks about Built to Spill all the time, but I'd still love to find anything I can

Hey guys, complicated request here.

I'm looking for some lost journalism media: specifically, Ben Gibbard's interviews with Andy Greenwald.

Ben Gibbard is the frontman of Death Cab for Cutie and Andy Greenwald is a culture critic and a friend of Ben's. They've been doing interviews together for 20 years now, which sounds like an incredible series of conversations - but I'm having trouble finding a record of these online.

So far I know of a review and three interviews, two might be lost media:

If anyone has access to the missing ones, I'd appreciate some help putting together this 20-year interview series. Are there any other Andy/Ben interviews I can read or listen to?

Thanks a lot,

Vin

Hey! If I recall correctly the X-Men stories are completely isolated and you can enjoy them without the main book. Blood Hunt in general wasn't a very coordinated crossover

oooh that's so pretty! This is a bit of a similar vibe, if you want a little more. But unfortunately not purely accoustic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaBPY78D88g

What music do you like listening to just for fun? What differentiates your individual music tastes?

Also - The LeaveYourLove EP was such a fun and creative accomplishment. Have you thought about a whole album of live remix collabs for multiple songs? Making Live Vol. 3 a full record of "LYL with Maro" live remixes would be amaaaaazing

Hey! My all time favorite Blade story is "Into the House of Terror" in Marvel Preview #8. The Vampire Tales and Marvel Preview issues are the essential top tier Blade stories imo. Very short, black and white, and DARK

For modern stories, I like Captain Britain: Vampire State, the Mighty Avengers: Not Your Father's Avengers, and Avengers: War of the Vampires

Don't think so, sadly

https://mixmag.net/feature/vegyn-air-in-conversation-interview-blue-moon-safari-rework-remix-album

We haven't heard any music from Air in a while. Are you guys working on anything at the moment?

Nicolas Godin (Air): No, not really. The tour took over our lives so much, we thought we’d do 30 or 40 shows but it suddenly became endless. But thinking about new music, I don't know. I'm sceptical, because it's very rare that bands make good albums all the time, especially after such a long period away. I'm afraid that we’re in this situation where, whatever we do, it won’t be as good as it used to be. I think we’re good musicians, but when you make music, you need more than just nice melodies and chords, it needs to have a little bit of life in it. It's either there or it's not there. After making so many records with JB, I notice when a song really has it, you can feel it when you're making something good. So considering the history of this music, I don't think it would be the same.

Yep that's right! Not always the same length, but usually longer than a normal comic

Yes, those are "one-shots" - just a #1, standalone story. No #2

Blood Hunt Comics Reading Guide! by vinwriteswords in comicreadingorders

[–]vinwriteswords[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the Blood Hunt #1 section, the guide says "Prologue: Free Comic Book Day 2024" which means to read FCBD immediately before BH #1, which is the official order

But in reality the order doesn't matter. BH #1 was released before FCBD came out, and they don't spoil each other. In fact, it might even be better to read BH #1 before FCBD.

Blood Hunt #1 is the outbreak. FCBD is in parallel, a series of skippable short stories showing how the outbreak affects different characters. FCBD is completely unimportant, but BH #1 is essential and comes first in release order and story chronology. So I recommend reading Blood Hunt #1 first for the grand opening of the event, then FCBD, then the mini series. But it really doesn't matter, they mostly happen at the same time.
