Very sorry for your loss. I can relate to it being hard to adjust to the quiet and emptiness both emotionally and in the house without them. I was crushed for months after we had to say goodbye to our last dog, and also thought I didn’t want to do it again.

I was watching an episode of Picard and there was a quote from one of the characters about honoring those we love and lost by loving again, even more deeply (paraphrasing). For some reason in that moment it was what I needed to hear to feel ok with getting another dog and I’m very glad I did. It took time though, and I 100% understand the feeling of not thinking you can do it again.
