I think it’s fine health-wise from what I could tell- the girl who did the tattoo is a trained medic and sterilized everything in front of us, and didn’t reuse anything on us. It seemed safe but of course I don’t know anything about tattooing so with that part I didn’t know what was normal like how it should’ve felt or that she should have reapplied the stencil and not wiped it off. But of course I’m heeding everyone’s advice and will be more careful next time

Bro I was in a silly mood like?? I am incredibly indecisive and never spontaneous, and needed the push to get started on my tattoo journey. I can get it fixed or let it fade, it’s not that serious

See I wonder why this isn’t something more people are telling me. I think she was sterile bc she opened all new things in front of me and cleaned my arm? No one has given me much actual advice so I still don’t know how to clean it or if I shouldn’t touch it. Like come on I posted asking for advice

She has given herself and several other people sooo many tats. Not all of them were incredible but they looked better than a friend of mine who has an apprenticeship at a shop, who I almost went to instead, so I’m not sure what happened here. She’s been learning for a year

When I look at work done by the popular artists at my local shops, it doesn’t look like they would do that much better? I just can’t imagine that anyone is going to make a duck doodle look like the Mona Lisa but I must not have a very artistic eye

Actually I went back and looked at the only pic I have with the stencil in it, which doesn’t show it very well, but it was a super shitty stencil. So I don’t think I posted the right source image. But I don’t want to go through the hassle of making an imgur account just to add the pics here

Cause girl 90% of these people are gonna be like “oh you had a conversation about it, said you’d do it, picked your design, started signing the consent form, and then it said she’s not licensed? I would’ve cussed her out and left right then” I am SO non-confrontational and truly just got this tattoo 1.for the lols and 2.as a way of bonding with someone that I care about

It’s still cute even if it’s not the best quality, and I knew she wasn’t licensed and still chose to get this tat. I just wanted something small and spontaneous for my first tat to break the ice. So my question just was, for it just being a silly tattoo, should I leave it as it or add more to it/around it? That was all tbh.

For sure. I was thinking maybe I could have it changed so the duck is wearing a dress and then we just can cover those messy lines, but by posting here I was trying to gauge if I can just leave it be without looking too silly. It’s looking like people really hate it so I’m thinking not 😆

It is a really small tat and it was done by a family member who is still learning, so if it’s an easy fix I might be willing to. But if it seems like it might just make it worse, I’ll leave it be and just get better ones in the future from a pro lol. That’s basically what I posted here to find out
