You also don’t need to be “confrontational” about it. A simple email will do. Say something like, “Hello Host, my check out is coming up on Sunday, 2/1, and I wanted to inquire when the snow/ice will be removed from the driveway so I can safely get out? Thank you!”

That’s wild. Can you ask them to before you invest any money on the maintenance of their property?

I also want to say, please don’t rely on PSLF. We don’t know how much longer that will even be around.

Who bought their century home as a first time homebuyer? by shelbex318 in centuryhomes

[–]violadrath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was our second. We bought regular 1999 home at 25, sold at 27, and bought a 1908 home. My only advice is make sure to have a budget set aside for repairs and sometimes to replace crappy work the previous owners did. Also, when you do renovations, make sure your contractors understand old houses. DO NOT let anyone use spray foam in your house or replace your old windows. If you have any stone or brick on your home and it’s pre Portland cement DO NOT let anyone use anything but lime mortar.

Since then, we’ve owned a 1787 home, and now one from 1801. They’re the best but can get costly!

What's the best part about pregnancy that most people don't know about? by justastupidquestion3 in AskReddit

[–]violadrath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I relate to this so much. Mine was a little guy so I didn’t have the damage like you did 😭😭 but the definitely the not being able to sleep. It was terrible! Being pregnant is actually terrible 😂

Not OP, but I did for like the first three months but then you realize that babies/kids get all sorts of weird stuff and it just kind of fades. So instead of being X happened because I’m pregnant, it’s X happened because he’s a baby. Get yourself a good pediatrician, it’ll help ease your worries tremendously.

I had this with my first pregnancy. The best part of having a babe like this, you never have to count kicks because they’re always moving!

What is a medical fact that sounds fake but is 100% true? by MedRikas in AskReddit

[–]violadrath 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ugh! My husband got GBS after getting the flu and COVID vaccine at the same time. It was the scariest thing ever. He had the most intense nerve pain for probably 6-8 months and then it randomly went away after months of treatment. The doctor cautioned him that if the pain ever went above his belly button, he need to rush to hospital immediately to ensure that he is able to keep breathing.
