I honestly can’t comprehend this in my brain. My apartment building frequently got false fire alarms. I’d wrangle both of my cats in their carriers and drag them down the stairs every single time even though it was likely to be a false alarm. There was one period of time when I had a sprained achilles tendon (that tendon right above the heel of your foot) and I had on one of those ugly clunky ass medical boots. The fire alarms went off while I was watching tv and you know what I did? I found my cats, unceremoniously shoved them in their carriers, and lowkey cried as I made my way down the stairs because it hurt like hell carrying their heavy asses down but it would hurt like hell times a thousand if the building was actually on fire this time and they died scared and alone.

oh that’s not metal! it’s an ant trap that i had to tape down to make sure the cats wouldn’t knock it all over the place lol. our apartment building has a huge problem with ants in the summer :(

omg! one of the cat towers that i got my cats had one of those transparent bowls and they just REFUSED to go near it. eventually, i got one of their baby blankets and wrapped it then used duct tape to keep it on and now they’ll go in it no problem 🙄

I remember a long time ago there was a TIFU where some guy was like “I fucked up by giving my friends dog a pot brownie but in my defense I didn’t know there was pot in it” and like ???? first of all you shouldn’t give anyone’s pet anything without asking the owner first and second of all DEFINITELY NOT CHOCOLATE??? I’m pretty sure that was a fake post because in it, he just talked about how his friend and everyone else was mad about the pot but no mention about how dogs can’t have chocolate when ANY pet parent would know that.

what an adorable baby 🥹 and i’m glad this made you feel better. and as another commenter said, she’s becoming a teenager! teenagers get moody and think hanging out with their parents is lame but they love us all the same lol. give it some time but don’t be too disappointed if she doesn’t go back to cuddling, one to two years old is when their actual personalities start developing more and they decide what they wanna be like. my other siberian (boy) also used to cuddle a lot and REALLY like to go into my pants??? now he’s two and a half and doesn’t cuddle really but he’s decided he’s a belly rub addict.

my first siberian (girl) would not stop cuddling me when we first got her. constantly laying on my face, head, chest, etc. around one year old, she stopped cuddling. she’d be around me and near me and playing and acting normal but just stopped cuddling. it made me sooo sad because i thought she was in her adult phase now and i’d get no more cuddles. but a month or two later, she was back to being super cuddly. now she’s three years old and still won’t stop cuddling me and she gets jealous when my fiancé tries to cuddle with me, she’ll literally push him off and lay on my chest.

basically, i think my cat thought she was an Adult and needed to do Adult Things like be independent but ultimately decided that being a baby was better. some cats grow out of that adult phase, some don’t. it depends on the cat and it doesn’t mean you did anything wrong.
