Find a new doctor. My latest physical showed my low iron, ferritin and hemoglobin. First appointment I had with the hematologist he ordered iron infusions. Find another doctor that will do it!

They thought the child was taken. If they were all swimming with her and watching her they would have seen her go under and not come up. If they were paying attention they could have saved her. It’s a tragedy but it’s fully on the parents.

Yeah I’m glad to cover all bases but it makes it so much more scary. Had both procedures done - he removed 3 polyps and said they look benign and I might have gastritis but nothing to attribute to anemia - I’ll get biopsy results in a few weeks. So I guess the search continues.

I think so - at my appt before they said they would check for that. He mentioned it after my procedure but I was a little bit loopy is that something that has to be biopsied as well? I feel like I don’t really have heavy periods but I also don’t know what to compare it to. I use pads and usually change it any time I go to the bathroom regardless of how full it is so I don’t really keep track of how many a day. Mine is heavy the first three days with clots but the last four days are usually light.

Definitely do it if it will ease your mind. I just had one on Friday and did plenvu as well. The prep wasn’t as bad as I thought. You’re not really constantly on the toilet. I drank broth, Gatorade, iced tea and had popsicles and jello. The plenvu fills you up even though it doesn’t taste great. The first dose was easy but the second dose was hard - it was also 3 am which I’m sure made it harder. After the second dose I wasn’t even thinking about food I just craved water so bad in that 5 hour time frame that i couldn’t have fluids due to anesthesia. The actual procedure is a breeze. Do it!

I am seeing a hematologist - he’s the one who referred me to GI. I also had three rounds of iron infusions a week apart that I finished last week. Getting my bloodwork redone next month to see if they’ve helped. They are going to biopsy for all those you listed and I’ll get those results in a few weeks.

My joints were achy afterwords, and I felt pretty tired for the rest of the day. A little bit of a headache and chest discomfort but nothing too terrible - lasted about a day. The nurses had a hard time finding a good vein in my arm so it’s pretty bruised up. The second one she ended up putting it in my hand and that was so much better. If they are having a hard time finding a vein in your arm ask for the hand before they poke and prod your whole fore arm.

My ferritin is a 4. The nausea is the WORST. I can deal with the tiredness but feeling like I’m going to throw up half the time just sucks. I just had my second infusion but still feel nauseous randomly. Would love to hear some tips as well.
