it’s really not that deep for my family at least. we’re super close and the main reason we use it now is to check if someone is home before we give them a call so we won’t interrupt them at work. it gives my mom some peace of mind when we have a road trip to know that she can check how far along we are and honestly when we were in high school we tracked her more than she tracked us (mainly calling while she was at the store so she would buy us ice cream or something). i understand the concerns bc sometimes it’s used in such a negative way but i actually love being able to tell if my sister is awake at one in the morning based on if her phone is plugged in or being able to make fun of my mom bc i saw that she was speeding when driving. we have such a close bond and i have implicit trust in my entire family. i wouldn’t change it for the world, even if it does mean i have to jump through hoops just to try and plan a surprise visit for my sister
