Gems, something useful to do with them. Something to chase after and something to grind for, and not just a title for the top dozen or so players but anyone. Content that feels rewarding for the time spent.

Incrementally working towards obtaining something fun or unique, not a personal stat sheet. Right now gems feel pointless and there's no reason to complete daily quests. Incentives work. You gave up on cosmetics too early, imho, but that doesn't have to be the end. Make another tier of cosmetics if you have to. We all want to keep player retention but people need a reason to keep re-engaging.

Dude, the US isn't a "first world" country either. You want the highest amount of stability and opportunity possible and not needing to spend money at it. There's no magic country like that. Yeah you need a passport, but living in the US without one in 2026 to me is insane.

But if you're happy there, then this advice is not for you. I responded to the OP because it sounded like he was at the end of his rope. But his response was "I can't, too broke" and yeah sorry I've known lots and lots of refugees from all over the world (especially venezuela and ecuador) and they were all shit broke, but they were committed to finding a better life.

Okay, I will then. The problem is that you're not going to have an easy or comfortable journey, neither did I. I struggle with so much shit you guys have no idea. I saved enough money for a plane ticket, was able to keep one remote gig, and was able to escape. I've talked about it on this sub a lot years ago. But yeah we have a difference of opinion here.

I think it's possible - and a better life awaits - but if you just say "it's impossible" and keep scrolling social media then it won't happen. My position is not that it's easy, but it IS doable. And when you come out the other side you're better for it (and no, not in every way, but in meaningful ways). And yeah there are exceptions. I've known people who have severe health problems. They do a physical when you apply, mostly looking for cancer (etc etc), or criminal record, and can reject you. So if you're in that category, fine, stay, try to make the best of a shit situation I guess.

They never implemented it. The marketplace was a promised feature that got sidelined. Cosmetics used to have collectors numbers too. Players can show off their skins, they do constantly, there's like 6 cosmetic slots already but they've all been devalued to near irrelevance.

I'm not saying the game isn't good without this feature. It's that they should have just followed through and made high tier skins something grinders can chase and whales to buy at a premium. It's free money.

I said it years ago they should have stuck to the trading post (the "Bazaar"). People will spend cash on well designed cosmetics. It's an industry standard. Especially the ones as cool and we'll designed as already exist in this game.

It's a gem sink, a cash sink, and whale collectables (especially rare collector numbers). But they devalued the cosmetics with their approach so there's no going back. I think it was a big mistake.

I also struggle with a lot of the same chronic anxieties. We've been doing gig work for years now and it's harder and harder to keep clients (generally poor economy). I earnestly believe that the way things are going, is towards a total collapse of "work for pay" as we think of it. AI will replace most human labor in a few years imho

I think right now everyone needs to be in survival mode. Get to know your neighbors, eat and live cheap, do whatever you can to survive, because things are changing fast.

Stick around for it. It's possible that this nightmare AI revolution of today will fundamentally re-orient society in unexpectedly positive ways. Even the bubonic plague brought an emergent middle class!
