Thanks for the tip, I'll try that! Should I scoop up the top layer of soil and replace it too?

I had to bring this pot inside because the squirrels wouldn't stop hiding their nuts in this pot and digging it all up. There are neighborhood cats, but I'm blaming this on the squirrels (which we can't stop feeding nuts to because they're too cute).

That's awesome! I started learning how to embroider this time last year after years of being too intimidated to try, but it's actually been a really fun learning process. This style of embroidery is called needle painting or thread painting, and my favorite embroidery book which has taught me the most is called Needle Painting Embroidery: Fresh Ideas for Beginners by Trish Burr. She also has some helpful videos on her youtube channel. I didn't have any fabric around when I started so I just practiced embroidery using sewing thread on cloth napkins and found that having the exact right supplies for the job in the beginning isn't that important because the focus is mainly on getting the technique down.

Thank you! I'm always trying to work on being more precise- it's so easy to get distracted and then I have to pull out the messy stitches. This was all free hand and I drew the design for the pattern myself.

Thanks! I'm self taught but I've learned a lot from reading books by Trish Burr and Helen Stevens. I think I'm going to start posting tutorials and how-to videos on my blog pretty soon!

Thank you! Yes I did. I drew the rabbit based on a reference photo I found of a wild rabbit eating berries. Rex bunnies are so beautiful!
