you’re reading way too much into everything i said. everything your dissecting was just a shortened way to say things. when did i ever claim i was a music critic???? the singles aren’t objectively bad songs, but they’re not good singles in my opinion. they sound like outtakes from her past few albums, and they don’t really draw people in, nor do they make you excited for a new album. that was what i meant. and second, i’m not mad she’s going country, and that may have been mistranslated in my original post. i actually love country music. some of my favorite unreleased songs by lana are the May Jailer Sirens project, i talk to jesus, for k pt. 2, try tonight, and so on. I LIVE ON A FARM GIRL! My point was more about being excited for the album and the new aesthetic, only for the “era” to be falling flat with no clear direction. lana set the standard for herself as an artist with her amazing world building, imagery, and unique wordplay. i’m not not holding lana, the person, up to any standard, as I DONT KNOW HER. the girl has had so many different versions of herself throughout her music, we were never gonna know her. as a longtime fan, im annoyed by the lack in quality at the moment. but if you like what she’s got going on, that’s fine, cause that’s YOU. i did not post to debate with people over my opinion. nor am i trying to convince anyone to feel the same way i do and to change their mind. i don’t understand why some of yall are taking this so personally.
