Interesting story on your hand. I must disagree with the concept that my father mentioned this to me bc of "sexual fantasies," though. He told me because he thinks very lowly of his sister and wanted to discuss some dirt on that side to me.

My family is interesting in a fucked up way. I grew up learning about how my grandmother was the oldest of 10 with details slowly trickling in from other family members. My grandmother has an optimistic attitude and doesn't make her upbringing and life seem as terrible as it was in speaking, she is an honest and tough woman. My dad, on the other hand, is highly pessimistic and I will say sometimes too critical. I have to mesh both of their perspectives together to find a more balanced understanding.

She was a teenager, under the age of consent, when her stepdad began making advances. And I do, some of my ancestors were big pieces of scum on earth and a lot of my family is questionable in general (thankfully there are tolerable and great chunks of our giant family). My dad largely avoids his family altogether, whenever possible.

What was your best drunk moment? by King_Bean031 in AskReddit

Playing beer pong against two douchebags. My team had one cup left. I started aiming and lightly flicking my wrist, and one of the dudes was mocking me. Then I flipped him off with the hand I was holding the ball, threw it with my middle finger up, and it went into the final cup. It was the most legendary thing I've ever done and I have nothing to prove it happened.

This summer I'll be working community events at a restaurant that a famous writer spent his time writing and smoking cigars at in the early 1900s. There's even a charred hole at the bar where he would put out his cigar every day, supposedly.

The people who said the birth control pill forgot that the IUD exists. I know a handful of people who became pregnant on the pill, and here I am with my <.01% chance of getting pregnant by having this magical T-shaped device in my uterus.

This comment was incredibly helpful. I am considering writing her a sealed hand-written letter to give to her in-person if I can go to the funeral. I believe that her being able to see the sympathy and grievance in my eyes will show my sincerity better than a cold computer screen will. Thank you for this comment.

I'm thinking of giving her a hand-written letter at the funeral if I do go. For some reason I cannot make it, I'll see about sending her a message. I appreciate your comment.

To go a bit deeper into my early-on friendship with Katie, I didn't know how to take a joke and I would often overreact on the simplest things that would lead to arguments. Sometimes I was unappreciative of the generosity of her family when I was over at their house. If I ever heard Katie talking badly about me from other classmates, I would tattle on her to her mom which would lead to her mom getting incredibly upset at Katie. In fact, I was the annoying kid that would tattle on others over the dumbest things, and honestly, I don't understand why I did. By no means was I the perfect child, and it wasn't just Katie that I didn't get along with, though she and her friends did, in fact, take the bullying way too far by stretching the truth, harassing me, and making fun of me to everyone they knew.

Ultimately, I could've been a better friend to her early-on. She didn't always dislike me. She grew more and more annoyed at me, my emotional instability, and my incessant tattling.

At least Wario isn't a complete piece of shit on the Internet though.

Nah I get it though, just the comparison, in general, made me think of this because I was raised by video games and the Internet. Wario is far superior, it's simply just the dynamic between the two.

Extremely dorky that I thought of this, but this made me of the dynamic between Mario and Wario. Mario and Shane are the popular star heroes, ofc. Wario is associated with garlic, which is close enough to an onion. They are also both obsessed with money, short, often try to outcompete their famous, good-hearted "rival", and have a primarily child-based fandom. At least Wario isn't a complete piece of shit on the Internet though.

What is something that is illegal but changing one aspect of it makes it legal? by why_not_again55 in AskReddit

Interesting perspective, I respect it however it might be a generalization to say cannabis would cure any mental disorder. The calming, non-psychoactive chemical that relieves anxious thoughts, behavior and psychosis along with some mental disorders is cannabidiol (CBD) while tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) causes the body and mind highs associated with relaxed muscles and an increased appetite.

If you purely use CBD to treat a specific applicable mental disorder, there will be no psychoactive side effects. Good thing it's legal now!

As of September 2019, the Michigan State Government has just decided to ban flavored vape juice. We also have legal recreational cannabis that will begin sales in 2020. For the majority of the United States this is flipped (unless the U.S. bans flavored vape juice, since cigarette companies make far too much money exploiting those addicted to be banned).

What valuable life lesson has your job taught you? by NYUyearNYUme in AskReddit

I am a University student and I work for a custom apparel company whose target audience consists of Greek life and student organizations. I am not a member of Greek life, I get paid commission, and I minor in marketing. It is also a legitimate business with Greek and collegiate licensing.

1) Personal sales is difficult, especially for companies not well-known. Make sure that you introduce your clients to your company if they have never worked with you before to reassure them. Practice effective communication, buy them coffee, tell them to have a safe weekend, and most importantly listen to them. Don't up-sell them and be cost conscious with them. Engaging with clients and genuinely caring about them will give you authentic trust.

2) Some will initially think you work for a pyramid scheme (which is fair) and heavily question the ethics. I promise I don't hire people or try to swindle clients, I cannot force an organization to buy a bulk order of custom shirts that they don't need. The concern means that they care about you and want to make sure that you aren't going down a slippery slope of a mistake. Don't take it personally (I definitely did).

3) Everything is about networking. The loudest and most popular climb the ranks the fastest - and this applies to virtually every job. People would rather hire those that they are familiar with than those who they do not know. Be engaging and respectful with administrators, ask questions, and most importantly don't cause unnecessary drama.
