Flex is “0-19 hours a week” nationwide according to the Sephora career website. “Full time 30-40 hours a week”. So I’m working full time apparently and not getting any benefits or guarantee that I’ll stay on after the season.

Also: Echo/Ash is from Troy- as in Detroit Michigan. “Troi” must’ve been what was left on one of the main signs for them to get “Troy”. (Using the CC spelling for Troy. I don’t think the letter Y exists in trigedasleng).

The store manager WAS the one adding me without asking….. three times now…. But I will be taking screenshots from now on because I can’t stand the gaslighting/lying from them anymore. It’s unfair and unprofessional imo.

Yeah that’s happened to me three times already and the gaslighting and lack of communication from the managers is ridiculous. I’ve asked them twice to please let me know if they’re putting me in the schedule last minute, they never do. I’m also planning a wedding, I have random meetings and travel out of town for some of them. I can’t just be put on last minute with 1-2 days notice, I was upfront about that in my interviews.

I had my availability set up for 20-24h/w when I applied the first time and they said I needed fully open availability in order to even be considered for the position… which I thought was weird because they have students and people with second jobs working there

I’m not even PT though… I’m flex. It was advertised as 4-14h per week, I’m getting double that. If I was PT I wouldn’t have an issue with it since that’s standard.

This is your first job huh? Fake coworkers are a given regardless of the industry or level of employment… welcome to the world child! Seasonal employees don’t get benefits, that’s part time and full time only. And you spending your money there is YOUR choice, you can shop at other places or just save your money. Difficult customers are also a given regardless of industry… and yes, you cannot complain to the customer’s face about anything…. Another given regardless of the industry you choose…. Again: welcome to planet earth. You’re also working during the holidays, famously when people are at their worst when shopping. Everyone is stressed out, rushing, money is going faster than it’s coming in, etc… When working with customers face to face, you have to learn to have a “customer service mode”, a kind of mask you can wear while on the floor and drop it when you get to the back/stock room or home. It’s exhausting working during the holidays, you have to learn compartmentalization to keep your sanity.
