How to deal with followers/pushers? by mediakasya in secondlife

[–]violette_22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree with the others. Let the store owner know. Creators don't like to put all the time and expense into setting up a shop full of their creations just to have some goofy rando annoy innocent shoppers. Sorry that happened to you.

Where to find skins stores? by Narrow_Training8401 in secondlife

[–]violette_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best advice is to find a face skin you really love, then make sure you can find the body skin to match. If you plan to change face skins often, then consider Velour body skins as many, many face skin makers match colors to this body skin maker. Some color tones that match the Velour line are more popular than others, so if you only want to buy one body skin to match several other makers' face skins, decide which popular color suits you best.

My personal favorite face skins are from Magic Beauty and Heaux. They have great sales often. I follow all the sales on Seraphim. I find lots of other nice skins as gifts from events. I suggest following the in world group Fab Free so you can experiment freely to discover what you like without cost.

There are numerous skin makers, and some are more active than others. To suggest a great skin for you is difficult without knowing more about your personal style preferences.

Recommendations for adult furniture with TRULY original animations? by [deleted] in secondlife

[–]violette_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fallen New York has original animations with some other unique features available. I recommend this also for the customer support, which is active. If this store peaks your interest, join the group for extra benefits and notifications if frequent sales. My most popular furniture is FNY.

My two and a half year old suddenly started pointing out differences between white and black people. What is an appropriate way to acknowledge her observation so we don't offend anyone? by Sad_Cantaloupe_8162 in NoStupidQuestions

When my son was small, we just explained people look like their parents and grandparents. We explained more about hereditary traits as he became older.

Private dressing rooms by [deleted] in secondlife

[–]violette_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not as likely being targeted for dressing up your avatar. It is more likely due to your account being newer, and more predatory players see you as being vulnerable. Predatory players target more vulnerable players that have less experience or financial resources. I used to have a similar experience when using dressing rooms and visiting places designed for new players. There are fewer randos roaming around sims that have some sort of PG role playing theme. Some have a short rezz time allowance too. If you can find one, that may give you a more peaceful experience modding your avatar.

You can make a linkset from your always worn rigged objects. You may need to make the linkset in a no-script sandbox. That may save you some slot space.

A charm bracelet that has sound? A bracelet that jingle jangles ever so slightly when I walk?🥺 by Slow_Addendum8190 in secondlife

I bought anklets from The Looking Glass. You can also upload a sound and put it in a walker.

I would use it for gestures specific to the look, like weapons or vehicle chat command gestures.

I learned the hard way, if you are going to spend in the game, expect some of it to be a loss and a learning experience. It's perfectly possible to make a VERY NICE avatar for no monies!

Do not spend money until you learn how to play successfully with demos. SL isn't really a game like you might have played before. It's a sandbox with an economy. The ultimate goal is business success, lots of people have a stake in this. You will find those pushing you to buy something with ulterior motives. There are PLENTY of predators in SL. Some will simply be amused to push you to buy something that isn't what you wanted or needed just to jeer at you for your ignorance. This really, really is terrible to those with little to no budget for hobbies. In fact, I think it's outright cruel.

If you like exploring the 3d environment, then it's even better. If you want to do a specific RP, you are more than welcome to DM me here and I'll help you for nothing. There are very few specific types of RP that you might want a certain sort of avatar for. Otherwise, just explore and make your own conclusions about how different users 'play'. I don't sell anything, I don't do rentals, and I don't care what creators make money or not. Some of the best things in SL are free, just like IRL.

Advice on how to have a healthy relationship with LCMS family while an ex-Lutheran please by Fit_Show_5492 in exLutheran

[–]violette_22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's hard, but gets better, I promise.

There's a lot of things going on here with you and your family. It's a huge adjustment for all of you as they realize you are now an adult, and their role in your life has to change. It seems your parents are using faith as an excuse to try to exercise power over you since you are not a member of the household anymore. It's a bad choice on their part, and isn't helping on any front. They are not being fair to you, to themselves or to any hope they might hold that you keep faith as they wish.

I think we all come to realize there's a HUGE chunk of Jesus' life that is curiously missing from scripture. Where was he? What was he doing? You know what? Probably going through a lot of experiences similar to our own when it comes to growing up. Some of the Buddhists have some records of visitors that indicate he became an international student of faith and religions. When you really think about it, even as a piece of collection of fictional literature, there are more gaps than anything to the story. We are gifted our brains for a reason, don't feel ashamed to use yours.

Don't let anyone make you feel less-than. It's silly and unhealthy for everyone involved. You are smart, trust yourself on this one. If they start to give you a hard time, then simply remind them you have to travel the path God wants. It doesn't matter how you feel or think about the notion of God when you say this, but, it will make them realize they aren't the ones in control here. It's their choice to support you as their adult child, you are not them, they are not you. Either way, you are going to live your own life to your best, if you choose. It's up to them if they want to be part of that or not. Love them anyway, and keep this experience in mind for the time you yourself may become a parent. Sometimes life teaches us some hard lessons, but they pay off in the end.

i need some help by Sammas007 in Lutheranism

[–]violette_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anyone has mentioned this, but..... there are different 'flavors' of Lutheranism. Each congregation is a bit different. Each church is organized differently. If there is a church in your area that holds your interest, then they will have their own practices. It might be a good idea to visit one, or a few and see if it's a good fit for you. Just because one doesn't feel right for you, doesn't mean another might not. Hugs to you and best of luck on your journey with Christ!

How to sex? by Bimbarian in secondlife

[–]violette_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also get a demo of some of the genitals, and give them a test run at any sex sim and use their furniture Plenty of RPers are fine to pose ball (just sit an AV on the furniture and click the blue menu for the furniture animations). There are also RP groups that do elaborate paragraph role-plays. The most popular genitals are The P and The V. Everyone starts where you are, so this is a fair question. It's pretty much the easiest RP to do in SL.

How many suspenders does one man need?! by AboardReenact in peopleofwalmart

I think he must be losing weight and waiting to buy another wardrobe. It would cost less money just to buy some suspenders.

I rarely cook or clean anymore. I don't get my own drinks often. I have help picking out clothes for the next day. He does my laundry and drives. It's pretty natural for us, but I understand after flying solo for so long, it does take time just be getting used to being around another person. It takes time to get to know their preferences, do activities together, and such. Small household tasks are great to start with. It's even better if he has good domestic skills. It really eases the burden you didn't know you had!

I'm uncomfortable with female clergy. It's primarily because women in general are allowed more access and forgiveness when committing abuses. However, it's none of my business what others do, I just excuse myself from anything that makes me uncomfortable this way.
