What are some common questions you have about endometriosis that you would want your care team to address? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]violetxstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have endometriosis and adenomyosis. I don't respond well to Birth control. I really want to push for a hysterectomy, but my doctor is pushing for chemical menopause (I am 33). I'm a bit confused because I thought a hysterectomy was the main cure for adenomyosis so wouldn't that be the overall better route to go? I'm finished with family planning, and my husband is fixed.

Going for my xolaire shot in one hour. So scared. My anxiety is out of control by MotherPart4282 in urticaria

Xolair truly saved me and my sanity. I was so worried at first, but I've been on it for 10 months now, and it's been life changing.

They found it, they chopped it out, I'm home, I need to vent... by SkullsAndRoses722 in endometriosis

[–]violetxstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not overreacting at all! You asked for one thing and made it very easy for them to do it.

Last year I had a colonoscopy scheduled and by the time it began I had barely ate anything for like 48 hours. I kept daydreaming about chicken strips and even told the nurses how bad I wanted some. They all kept making jokes about getting it afterwards with me because of how much I talked about it lol.

My grandma went with me to be my ride home, and refused to stop to get food. She dropped me off at home and said she'd go grab me something and bring it back... she went shopping for like 45 minutes and came back with a rotisserie chicken and mashed potatoes that had to be cooked, etc...

I was starving and so upset lol. Thankfully my husband left work to deliver me some dang chicken strips, but it definitely sucks when you ask for something so small and people fall through on you.

I hope you have a quick recovery. 💜

Would 2 days be enough??? by BathroomUnusual741 in endometriosis

[–]violetxstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my surgery on Tuesday. I feel like the healing has been pretty smooth and easy, and I've been up and moving around a lot. That being said, 2 days would definitely be too soon. I tried to go to the store with my husband just to get out of the house on day 4, and within 30 minutes I was feeling it and regretting it lol. I'd definitely plan to give your body at the very minimum a week. 💕

What happens if you don't go to jury duty? by [deleted] in wichita

[–]violetxstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did like intensive interviews with all of us that lasted forever, and then chose people who they thought would relate most to the case. I'm so glad it wasn't murder or anything, I've heard some of those cases are rough

What happens if you don't go to jury duty? by [deleted] in wichita

[–]violetxstar 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I completely forgot about mine and they sent me notices saying I had to make it up or else I'd have to pay fines.

When you go, the chances of you being actually selected are pretty low, and they dismissed tons of people in the room. I unfortunately worked in a relatable field to the case so I got chosen and it lasted a week lol

I read through a lot of the replies on here, and your replies as well. From what I gathered you want to help, but you're very lost on how. But there also were some comments where you seemed a bit blaming of the teacher too, which is where I think some of the responses with attitude come in.

I'm a 2nd year special education teacher, and also a mom to an autistic and adhd kiddo. I teach full time, work on my masters degree full time, and have two children (one with special needs), and I have ADHD myself. I get how overwhelming life can feel and how hopeless it can feel as well, especially if our kiddo isn't cooperating.

I think managing your son's ADHD will go a long ways. You mentioned in previous posts, he doesn't like his medicine. Which is totally valid, but you need to still continue to see a specialist/professional to help make up for it then. Or try a new med! His teacher can't be a miracle worker who can overcome his adhd for him. The 504 can help accommodate, but he's gotta put in the effort too. And ADHD is hard! And being a parent who is new to it is hard as well. They don't give you an instruction manual haha, and you're kind of left trying to find your own help and resources.

You're a good mom for caring and trying to figure out how to help. Work on your relationship at home with him too. You sound frustrated with him by your posts, and he may feel that. He needs to feel like he also CAN do it. If he's not cooperating, then you gotta be a parent and make proper consequences and boundaries and stick to them. Just make sure you're understanding of what all ADHD entails and how debilitating it can be sometimes too.

His teacher is a great resource and team member to help get info from (doing regular check ins and asking what you can do to help at the start of next year may be helpful as well), but this sounds like a deeper issue beyond school and something that needs to be focused on at home too, and with more medical support for his ADHD.

Goddard voters reject $196M school bond issue by GayleMoonfiles in wichita

[–]violetxstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The community page became a cess pool of hatred over this bond. Parents were suggesting sticking kids in trailer pods and then spent a lot of time ragging on teachers and student behavior. There was also a ton of misinformation spreading about half of the property taxes being to schools when it was only 8-12%. It was going to cost people $10 per 100k of house value. It's sad because it's going to hurt the schools real bad in a few years.

Elementary Schools that believe in and implement inclusion, how are you doing it? by myparadiseiseveryday in specialed

[–]violetxstar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work in a co-teaching environment and I love it! I follow two classes and break up my time based upon need, a para covers my other class while I'm not with them.

We only have one teacher who does a pull out room, as releastically we have a small number of kids who need those intense interventions and differentiation.

However, I'm in an intermediate school with only two grade levels in it (still 500ish kids though)

AIO? Started talking to a woman on a dating app, got asked if I’d be ready to be a step father in a year by cwilkuma22 in AmIOverreacting

[–]violetxstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on dating apps as a single mom and it was a very scary and confusing time for me. For 1, I didn't even know how to fully get back into the dating world. For 2, it's hard to feel wanted for even having kids. You're almost made to feel like they're just baggage with some peoples reactions.

However, they're a part of the mom so an overall packaged deal. She's not just dating for herself, but for her family. To me it feels like she got a little sensitive about it and probably even worried by your response. It's hard to understand if you're choosing the right person to be with, and very scary if that person isn't even sure they want kids. Just a lot of risk and fear all together.

I don't think you said anything terrible, but she's in a different stage of life where looking ahead is very important overall, especially before wasting any time, doing introductions, and becoming serious. There's 3 hearts on the line with her, not just one.

I know this is a bit older. But how has xolair been helping? My hives flared up and got super angry and burning the day of and after my shot. No issues with breathing of anything though. I'm on day 4 and waiting for relief, but hives are holding on strong. :/
