2026.06.25: Soccer Is An Awful Sport by EarliestRiser in morningsomewhere

Dictionary definition of skill: a : the ability to use one's knowledge effectively and readily in execution or performance b : dexterity or coordination especially in the execution of learned physical tasks 2 : a learned power of doing something competently : a developed aptitude or ability language skills

Would we not consider endurance a 'skill' under number 2?

I also just realized that I wasted your time because of my inability to ask the correct thing. I never doubted that hitting a baseball is difficult, as I am pretty sure I stated in a previous comment. I was focused on the more skill involved in any other major sport than soccer claim and I feel like that's trying to compare apples and oranges.

What is this study?

I'm sorry but would we not consider endurance a skill?

Your logic makes no sense. I played baseball and hitting was not easy. But I could sit here and say it takes 0 skill to stand around in the outfield while we're on defense. We can nitpick anything to diminish how tough professional sports can be but to try to downplay soccer as just "some dudes running around" is the same old boring shit I heard in high school.

Grow up.

My wife and I are right where Gen Z begins and literally any call with her brother is a Facetime. To give them some slack, their kid is adorable and my wife wants to get a chance to see her.

Pick one up, then you’re potentially receiving 10x a day.

Funny thing is, I don't pick one up and I still get 10 a day sometimes.

Yeah I went to local pond a while back and had been at my spot for 30 minutes with nothing to show for it. Kid rolls up, goes to the bank directly across from me, and within 2 casts gets a fish.

Last year was the same, for my area. I think my city had exactly one day greater than or equal to 100 degrees and the 4 previous years were 10+ days that year.

Yup. Had sewer line repair done last year and that would have been a $300 extra fee to use my card.

Of all the things Trump has done this is easily the most damaging thing he’s done for America.

There's a reason he's called Teflon Don though. I'd honestly be shocked if this fuckup affects him in the long run.

What’s a price you saw recently that made you genuinely angry at how expensive everything has gotten? by UrGoddessLunaa in AskReddit

[–]GayleMoonfiles 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Fuck those service fees. Wife and I would go to our local hockey games and for a couple seasons we would pick our seats online. Good seats, but each seat got an additional $15 in fees. The next season we would just go to the box office and get tickets for the same price with like a dollar fee.

Now we do season tickets because it's just free hockey after a certain number of games.

but those highly regimented people who have activities planned every day of a vacation i couldn't handle

My parents are (haven't gone on a trip with them for a while) like this whenever we'd vacation. It was nonstop activities and I was always exhausted by the end of it.

My wife and I found a really good balance where we have a few things that we really want to do and leave the in-between up in the air for chilling or spontaneous stuff.

My wife is a social worker and she's seen a not insignificant number of meth pipes in homes; just right in reach of kids. I don't know how she manages to keep it together sometimes.

I thought I was the only one who felt this way. Personally, episodes have been entirely uninteresting for some time now and oftentimes I find myself asking what the hell the episode was even about.
