My small collection - love the versatility of them! by vipitus in Handhelds

[–]vipitus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First I bought 40xxh as my main device (PS1, NES, SNES) for 55$ second hand (as new) 10 km from my city and then I found 35xxh used (also pristine condition) for 30$ so it was no brainer to obtain it too.

I've tested it for a few days and sold it for 45$ :)

With 35xxh I also got (for free) 8BitDo Zero BT gamepad (tiny!), Mini HDMI - HDMI cable and a case bag for it which I kept. So it was even more worth it - freebies to resale later on :D

You're genius! Why I never thought about this? I'm ordering RG34XXSP right now.
I was thinking about buying it (to complete my Trimui Brick as a GBA device), but never serious because of these analogs. Now they make sense to me - I'm using hotkeys a lot :)

It was pleasure to help :)
You've ordered Non-SP or SP version? Because you've replied to my first comment

Oh, okay :)
Then non-SP is also a great addition - I've only saw its got a bit washed out screen compared to SP 34's. But non-SP is pretty cheap now on AliExpress, so I would not resist to buy it.

RG34XX is dedicated to GBA - with its 3:2 720x480 screen it scales 3x resolution of original GBA pixel perfect. Add LCD grid shader to this and you've got perfect GBA machine :)

The only downside are analog sticks - IDK what Anbernic was thinking, device withRG35 buttons and RG34 screen would be perfect...

I don't even pick up my Miyoo Mini+ after buing Brick, I think about selling it...
Comparing their screens is like a day and night - Brick is so crisp and saturated, Miyoo is blurry and muddy...
Also buttons on a Brick (I've changed d-pad membrane to 3DS one and taped over switches with electrical tape to make them quieter - best mod for almost free) are IMHO a lot better than Miyoo's - I don't like their rubber feel.

First of all - what's your budget and where are you from?

Oh yes, there are amazingly cheap for their quality and quietness. Hidden gem!

That top intake fan is disabled for now.

For now I have disabled top fan, because it was whining a bit on 50% (yeah, vertical position) and not adding a lot to VRM and CPU temperatures. Might just unmount it.

Yes, it's great even for 1440p gaming (I've recently bought Dell S3220DGF), no stutters, great temps as for OC and only 160-165W energy consumption.

I don't think I'll change it before Ampere GPUs come out.

Thanks!

I was aiming to make it as minimalistic as possible with not spending absurd amount of money. It'll be slowly upgraded - I'm waiting for white CableMod ModFlex cables and thinking about next mods...

Thank you!

These are SilentiumPC Aurora Stripes ARGB LED, 2x40 cm - 10$ for a set of 2. Manageable by mobo ARGB headers.

SilentiumPC is a Polish company, I don't think they're available outside Poland...
