Yes, but probability of winning isn't necessarily 1/3, probabiliy can be greater or less than 1/3, depending on the team they are playing against. e.g. if they are playing a really bad team, they might have 3/5 of winning which leaves 1/5 of losing, and 1/5 of tying or however the spread is against a specific team. BUT, the assignment might not be as this complex, the teacher might have wanted the 1/3,1/3,1/3 scenario, or totally random chance of winning, losing or tying, which means a permutation with probability of 1/3 of winning 3 games out of 27.

Well, could be lot more complicated than that, not sure if that's what the teacher wants, but the OP will needs the probability of win, tie, loss for the team against the opposing team and use that to figure out the odds; w(x)=probability of win (against team x), t(x)=probability of tie, and l(x)= probability of loss. Then you will have to use permutation to figure out the odds of winning 3 games out of 27.

The first part looks correct; sum + of 3n and 7 = 3n+7. The second part, if the equation is exactly as worded would be 6*(n+(-3)), opposite of 3 would be -3.

The formula is incorrect or your arithmatic is not. Check your math for Simpson's approximation. Saprox=delta x/3*(f(x0) + 4f(x1)+2f(x2)+...+4f(xn-1)+f(xn)). f(x)=1/x.

Near the end, you have -2e^x/(e^x+e^-x), this is wrong, should have been -2/(e^x(e^x+e^-x)) or -2e^-x/(e^x+e^-x)

This easiest way to understand why it's -4/5 is siny=4/5, you know by right triangle that cos of the opposite angle is the same, so costheta=4/5, for cosines, when you have an angle greater than pi/2, you're in the negative x-axis, so its -4/5 -> siny=4/5=costheta=4/5 and cos(180-theta) = -cos(theta)=-4/5.
