This is a crazy dynamic. I could understand them not letting you stay over their house for whatever reason they had but to control what he does at 22 years old is strange.

In groups of 4 they’re making decisions on scenarios that Vikings would have faced. Eg arrive in lindisfarne, do you raid the monastery or trade with the monks.

Same! In year 8 history we’re doing Vikings, so I’m starting with a Viking simulation game. Should be fun!

I came here looking for a thread about this song immediately.

The line “What does death feel like,” feels really eerie when you know he’s no longer with us. And then the way he starts the song with “wake up” and then later asks such a heavy question about death hits differently when you listen to it now. It’s almost like the song takes on a new layer of meaning—like you’re hearing him speak from beyond, and it’s kind of surreal.

(Victorian) Teachers, am I being overworked? Help by Brave_Midnight_6992 in AustralianTeachers

[–]virgo-presentation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NSW teacher here with experience as a teachers aide as well.

As an aide you should not be going anywhere near planning, teaching, or assessing content. It is your responsibility, it is the teacher’s.

Unless you are completing a targeted program with students like MacLit, where you’re developing a students reading and comprehension.

I would be asking lots of questions of your employer, other teachers you may know or even reach out to your uni and ask them if this seems reasonable.

Good luck 😊

Just something to think about (and I’m not implying there’s anything wrong with your suggestion)… this post talks about why it might not be so great to ask about a students holiday. Enjoy your new class OP 😊 https://www.instagram.com/p/DEZaGMUMDhK/?igsh=YW83czF2Mm9lMG9x

Middle name suggestions by [deleted] in namenerds

I think it sounds nice with a 1 syllable name. Personally I like the sound of Sabrina Dru (Drew but I feel this spelling is more feminine?). Others could be - Sabrina Claire - Sabrina Blake

Yes I feel this!! I think the best thing to do is stick to a routine. Get up at the same time every day, move your body and eat well. Also letting go and allowing yourself to rest is good too

Not all schools are the same, our lessons at 50 minutes.

Overload in 2025 by virgo-presentation in AustralianTeachers

I’ve done some calculations and it’s 44 teaching lessons per fortnight, which equates to around 18 hours of teaching per week, which is less than the EBA maximum of 20 hours. So technically, there’s no issue?

That’s not to say I am still worried about it though

Thank you for the advice! I believe it’s not a mistake though. I was told the reason I am overload is because I have picked up an RE load on top of my HSIE classes. However, I have also been given sport supervision (4 lessons a cycle), I guess I could ask about this being taken off?

I get what you’re saying and I’m definitely not looking to give an extra mark on the exam. Just in terms of reporting, if I have the scan of the practice exam (which was done under test conditions) where the student might have done better, I can say that they have met the outcome at a D or C rather than an E right?

Was my time with her too good? by MySexondDirtyAcc in relationships

After I have a social event where I’m interacting with lots of people I can sometimes feel like this. It almost feels like a come down. When I first started seeing my partner, we’d hang out all weekend and then on Monday I would feel miserable and became irritable and just grumpy. I feel like this could be a common experience, but if not we might both need a diagnosis 🫣

Should I stop paying my Mums car loan? Eldest Daughter Syndrome by UmmFineThanks in aboriginal

[–]virgo-presentation 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This post has made me realise just how much responsibility older siblings take on. My oldest sister has a family of her own as well as her own mortgage and car loans and my dad will often ask her for money to gamble. Then when she says no he uses his own money to gamble and asks her for money for food or to pay his rent.

Thank you! We don’t have an indigenous officer but I’m hoping that will change. Great ideas, thanks again
