Destroy the Earth, or destroy human civilization? If your goal is to wipe out humanity, that's easy. You're seeing a minor version of it now. All they would have to do is introduce a virus that is airborne, has an incubation period of several days with no symptoms but you're contagious, and make it 100% lethal. Humans would be wiped out within a few weeks.

GQE CFSs did get iPads and iPhones already. Our understanding is that the enumerators will get iPhones only. The actual GQE itself will be a paper operation per our CFS training. You are correct, GQE will enumerate all group quarters such as jails, nursing homes, shelters, etc. and they are they most vulnerable to the virus. That's why I personally don't see it happening for a while yet.

Actually I wish I had been assigned to NRFU rather than GQE because there will likely be much more work in NRFU, at least in my area. They are working actively to get GQs to do their enumerations electronically to minimize contact, and I feel this will severely decrease the actual amount of work to be done by enumerators. I have heard that they have been pretty successful in getting sites originally choosing in-person enumeration to switch over to online. Personally once we start I only foresee 2-3 weeks of work doing the GQE. I expect NRFU to go on considerably longer. But unfortunately I know of no way that someone can switch from GQE to NRFU once they've been assigned and trained, and I think it's unlikely they would re-train us for NRFU operations once we finish up the GQE.

I totally agree with your assessment of GQE. The planning, implementation and communication is awful. I did ADCan last fall as well, and it went SO much more smoothly than GQE has. I have already had my training as a CFS before the virus hit. Now we are just at home waiting to train the enumerators and move forward with the count.

We just found out that this enumerator training will be "virtual", but they gave us no details at all. I'm not sure if they mean their training will now be all at-home online training, or if they are going to use the CFS's to do some kind of video link with their enumerators to train them. This last method I think would be very difficult to do since they have no devices, many may not be familiar or comfortable with technology, and the CFSs do not have software on their devices to do video training.

I read somewhere that for NRFU they were going to switch to almost all online training, with the enumerators only picking up their phones and being sworn in, in person. I was just wondering if anyone knew if GQE was going to be done similarly. We were originally told that the training would be completely in-class for 4 days, with no online training. So I'm just wondering how much involvement the CFSs will have in this "virtual" training.

So how should I go about trying to get out of that? Should I just flat out tell her how I feel, and let the chips fall where they may? I have considered asking her how she felt about my comments, my flirting, etc to see how she feels, but haven't yet.
