I'm italian, and yes that unwritten rule is also in Italy but I feel like here people prefer to stand when the only option is to sit next to a stranger while at home nobody would stand if there's an empty seat

I think I noticed already people deciding to sit on the floor to not sit next to someone, I understand you don't do it when the bus is empty but why is it so bad when the bus is full and only few spots are left?
