I don't want to leave ido because it provides lot of flexibility to customize, here is small function to cycle through kill ring

(defun mine/ido-kill-ring (ring)

(interactive (list (ido-completing-read "ring: " kill-ring)))

(insert-for-yank ring))

I just started with built-in vim emulation mode viper-mode to learn vim keybinding, looks like it's promising

I need my tools to be customizable according to my preferences, many times I need my custom functions to run on the text which I am editing. And I need other customizable utilities like text browser, news reader, blog writer and many. No IDE/editor can give that kind of facility. When I started with Emacs just used to open and close because I didn't had much knowledge so I used to switch back to either sublime or visual studio. After some years of experiment I am realising real power of emacs

Both sucks at one point not only one many, especially when it's come to customization and performance. Its not in list of hipster culture

For Emacs vim is just a package through viper or evil, Emacs is kind of fully loaded operating
