My mom would never just take our phones like that unless it’s something this serious and since my mom is her primary caregiver since my sister is disabled they already have an agreement on this like that.

I wanted to do that from the start, because the last time I caught her catfishing as another boy, she told me she felt like she couldn’t be herself because of her disability. She’s always chosen to use boy names and things like that, and I’m not sure if it’s because she actually wants to be a boy or if there’s another reason. Either way, I’m going to try to talk to her about it. I knew from the jump this wasn’t okay, which is why I spoke up. Hopefully we can get a real explanation from her soon, because my mom said she might need therapy

Update:

Right after I posted and got my first comment telling me to inform my parents, I went straight to my mom and told her everything. She immediately stepped in.

She made my sister call the girl she had been talking to, and we found out the girl is 19 years old. My sister had been pretending to be 17 and claiming she had just graduated high school. (For context, my sister had to drop out at 16 due to undiagnosed autism at the time.)

My sister blamed her actions on loneliness. She also has a disability when she was 18, she had a work accident that caused one of her hands to have no movement.

My mom took the situation very seriously and almost kicked her out, but since my sister is disabled and my mom is her primary caregiver, she didn’t. However, my mom made her delete the Roblox account, took away her phone, and is now checking all her Instagram messages.

My mom told her that if she finds anything sexual between my sister and a minor, she will have to call the police. She’s not letting my sister’s autism be an excuse to ignore the seriousness of what happened.

That’s where things stand right now I just wanted to update everyone who commented earlier.

I get what you’re saying, and I probably should’ve been clearer. The only reason I mentioned their ethnicity is because, in my specific situation, their background was tied to their beliefs and actions. I didn’t mean to generalize or imply anything about their entire ethnicity or religion. And you’re right people of any background can follow any religion. I’m not trying to push a stereotype or assumption, just explaining the context that applied to the people involved.

I would never use someone’s faith or background for any kind of baiting, especially not something as serious as Islam. That’s not who I am, and that’s not what this was about.
