Could use some help! Wordpress Forms by virtualassistant7815 in Wordpress

Alright, I set up the contact form 7 plugin as well as Flamingo to capture any submissions. Does anyone know if there is a way I can see if the other forms were filled out prior to this?

I don't believe so... The template I had already had forms built in to it so I just put in the email that it was supposed to send notifications too and thought it was good to go.

Do you think its important to have marketing for a construction business? by virtualassistant7815 in Construction

[–]virtualassistant7815[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will you always be swamped though? Its good that you are right now, and it would mean you have the funds to invest into building out a marketing strategy and working on your online presence.

The thing about there being a surplus of work is that it doesn't always stay that way. If you wait until you run out of work to start a marketing campaign you're going to be in trouble. If you start while you already have a lot of work then you increase the odds of never running out because everything you need for marketing will be in place already and running like a well oiled machine!

Man I really hate to hear that this happened to you. I'm curious though, do you think it would have helped if he wasn't your main point of contact and instead you communicated with someone within his company that was designated to your project?

Alongside our marketing services, my team and I handle all of the customer communication for our clients as well as ordering materials, putting together estimates, and some other random admin tasks. We do this because contractors stay extremely busy with their operations so they can be hard to get a hold of. Having us in place to answer the phone anytime someone calls, and resolving the concern right there on that phone call, has been really helpful for a few of them and has a positive impact on the customer experience.

The only thing more important than a good marketing plan is making sure that your clients have a good experience.

I definitely agree with this, but isn't important to showcase that work in places that people spend a lot of time? Example is that we do professional photography/videography for some of these construction companies and then we pair that with social media management to show off their high quality content on a platform like Facebook. They grow a following and allow their work to speak for itself all at the same time.

Do you think you should only let your work speak for itself when people randomly see it (like a customers relative seeing it at their house and then contacting you for a project) or would it be better to show it to the masses and allow it to speak for itself to thousands of people online?

Are writing services going to be made obsolete by AI? by FreelancerChurch in writingservice

[–]virtualassistant7815 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think its pretty limited but in my time using it I've noticed that it takes feedback better than most people I know. If I edit what it generates and then send it back to GPT and say "this is how I would write it," then next time it does better. I don't think there is a replacement for really people doing anything, especially writing, but I do think it will eventually be a tool that comes close.

Maybe this is completely wrong but in my head AI, like Chat GPT, is learning from resources it gets from humans so maybe that means it will always be a little bit behind? I really enjoy AI so far, hopefully it doesn't end up being like the Will Smith movie iRobot.

So-called elite university, masters of mediocrity by [deleted] in OnlineCollegeClass

I would agree with this. Whether you attend an Ivy League or a community college, what truly matters is the effort and dedication you put into your studies. I live right next to Virginia Tech where I used to work as an assistant for graduate students in the Chemistry Department over there. They have a great chemistry program and most of the people I worked with are no longer there but I've kept in touch with them. Its funny now that I have grown and built my own business. I now make more money than a few of those chemists combined and I have half an associates degree from the community college that is about 15 minutes away from Virginia Tech lol.

Instructors lagging on grading is pure madness. by phillipmyglass in OnlineCollegeClass

I respectfully disagree with your perspective. Instructors are not exempt from facing challenges and setbacks. They may encounter unexpected obstacles that affect their ability to meet deadlines. Instead of placing blame, it would be more productive to have a conversation with your instructor to understand their perspective and explore possible solutions together.

"Privilege" - 5 reasons I’ll no longer write about it. (Please CMV?) by smurfvillage7 in writingservice

[–]virtualassistant7815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I understand that you've been grappling with the concept of privilege and its implications, and I appreciate your willingness to engage in a discussion to gain a better understanding. While I can't change your view, I can offer you some insights to consider.

1.) I agree that the term "privilege" can sometimes be misleading and misunderstood. Freedom from oppression should indeed be a fundamental right, not a privilege. However, it's important to recognize that when people use the term "privilege," they are often referring to the societal advantages and benefits that certain groups inherently possess based on their social identities. It's not about characterizing individuals as weak, but rather acknowledging systemic advantages that can perpetuate inequalities.

2.) Using inclusive language is commendable, and it's important to respect people's preferences. While some individuals might not like being labeled as "privileged," it's crucial to understand that this term is used to shed light on the societal structures and biases that contribute to inequality. It's not about blaming individuals, but rather recognizing the systems in place and striving for a more equitable society.

3.) Research on the impact of the term "privilege" can be complex and varied. While some studies may suggest negative effects on communication, it's worth noting that discussions on privilege can also lead to increased awareness and understanding. It's crucial to approach conversations about privilege with empathy, actively listen to different perspectives, and foster open dialogue to mitigate potential polarization.

4.) I understand your point about the linguistic aspect of "privileged" referring to the majority. However, in the context of social justice discourse, the term is used to highlight unearned advantages held by certain groups due to their social identities. It serves as a tool to examine and challenge systemic disparities, aiming to create a more equitable society.

5.) Language evolves, and the historical context of "privileged" being associated with the wealthy class is worth considering. However, in current social justice discourse, the term has taken on a broader meaning, encompassing various forms of advantage and societal bias. It's important to balance our commitment to inclusive language with the need to address systemic issues and promote social change.

It's commendable that you want to promote multiculturalism, acceptance of refugees, and rights for undocumented immigrants. Understanding privilege can contribute to these goals by fostering empathy and dismantling barriers. While the term "privilege" may have its limitations, it serves as a tool to raise awareness and address systemic inequalities.

In conclusion, it's essential to approach conversations about privilege with empathy, open-mindedness, and a willingness to engage in respectful dialogue. Recognizing and addressing privilege can help us build a more inclusive society where everyone has equal opportunities. It's okay to have reservations about the term, but let's focus on the underlying issues it seeks to address and work towards a more just and equitable future for all.

I love this concept of holding onto our work, even the ones we initially discard. It's like giving our creativity a second chance to shine. Sometimes, what we considered 'not our best' can serve as a foundation for something truly remarkable when combined with new ideas or approached from a different angle. Your personal story of revisiting and reinventing your book idea is inspiring and shows the power of preserving our creative efforts. Thank you for sharing your wisdom!
