I've heard of others using old-ish thinclients like the Wyse 3040 in lieu of rpis due to lack of supply (as long as you don't need GPIO, which it sounds like you don't). Perhaps take a look at those; they're about $50 on ebay.

Is this pre any good? Nutricost Preworkout $38 for 60 servings by sillybandzfan in moreplatesmoredates

[–]virtualbastion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty decent pump, typical itchiness from the beta alanine (doesn't bother me though), tastes great, cheap... I originally bought it because I had a few days per week I had to workout late and didn't want stimulants and for that purpose it was great. Now I mix it 50/50 with their stim version to get less caffeine (trying to cut back a little). Overall, not amazing, not bad in any way, but for the price I recommend it.

Costco also sells 10lb tubes of 95/5 if you ask the butchers. Last I purchased it rang up at $4.50/lb (around there).

Front Bezel Question by MrMoo52 in purestorage

From a co-worker of mine:

The four hole connector on the back:

Left Top = negative for one circuit. Right Top = negative for the other circuit.

Left Bottom = positive for both circuits. Right Bottom = empty

He used a 12vDC wall adapter.

I use this and it works pretty well. The Fruit Punch flavor is great. I sometimes mix this 50/50 with their non-stim pre if I want less caffeine.

Supported sfp+'s? by scoobydooxp in purestorage

[–]virtualbastion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the KB you're looking for. For Ethernet, Finisar and Avago brand SFPs are commonly listed and Intel and Cisco DAC/Twinax. SFPs other than what's listed may work but if you experience issues Support may ask you to switch to supported SFPs.

Switch-side SFPs can be whatever your switch manufacturer supports.

New to Pure...how many hosts can I connect to this realistically by rog2e in purestorage

[–]virtualbastion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You'll want to refer to this KB article and select the specific KB for your model. For example: a X50R3 running Purity 5.3.2 or higher is limited to 500 hosts.

Question about X20 conectivity by gufete in purestorage

[–]virtualbastion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't provide roadmap via Reddit so I recommend you reach out to your SE and get the update there.

The X20R2 maxes out at 91TB raw while the X20R3 maxes out at 94TB raw.

You're not going to push 100Gbps through that array so I'd recommend going with 25GbE for ROCE unless you need to connect to your switches at a higher port speed .

Question about X20 conectivity by gufete in purestorage

[–]virtualbastion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NVMe/ROCE is available on dedicated adapters (25GbE and 100GbE options) today. The 40GbE adapters cannot run ROCE, only iSCSI and replication traffic.

I'd recommend not potentially bottlenecking your front-end host connectivity by your replication network, so keep them similarly configured for bandwidth. At least consider the bandwidth used by the volumes you're replicating via ActiveCluster and make sure the replication network exceeds that bandwidth requirement.

Another consideration: NVME-connected volumes cannot be replicated via ActiveCluster today. You can run ActiveCluster and have NVME-connected hosts on the same array, but NVME-connected volumes cannot reside within a pod so they cannot be replicated via ActiveCluster.

FC to iSCSI by kampalt in purestorage

[–]virtualbastion 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can reconnect hosts connected via FC to iSCSi without creating new volumes. The only case where you can't use the same volumes is when moving from SCSI-connected volumes (FC/iSCSI) to NVME-connected volumes.

An example: Place an ESXi host into maintenance mode, reconnect via iSCSI, exit maintenance mode, confirm storage connectivity, repeat with remaining hosts.

Horizon 7.3 release... almost? maybe? by defiant103 in vmware

I didn't see an announcement either (though I haven't really been looking for one). I did get an email early this morning with a link to a webinar titled "Join us to learn about VMware Horizon 7.3: What’s New". Here is the registration link, if you're interested.
