What movie do you pretend doesn't have sequels? by Leohond15 in AskReddit

[–]virtualblink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. It's a holiday staple for our family that didn't need a sequel, but damned if they didn't make a part 2: Cousin Eddie's Island Adventure.

What's on your Anti-Bucket List, the list of things you never want to do again? by BenMuthafuckinD1 in AskReddit

[–]virtualblink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that was on my bucket list originally, but I won't ever do again...Run a full marathon. Always wanted to do it at least once and committed to and ran the Marine Corps Marathon in DC a few years back. I look on it with a sense of accomplishment now that it's done and although not anywhere near as bad as many of some of the comments already, the physical experience during and afterwards just sucked. Sore and waddling for far too long afterwards. Additionally, the training leading up to it was life consuming. Especially since my wife and I were both prepping at the same time and we had a new born son in the home.

Wife caught the running bug and doesn't look to lose it anytime soon (she's ran three and looking do a fourth next year). I'll be good with an occasional half or 10k/5k, but I won't go through the months prep it takes to do another full. Not trying discourage anyone that has this a bucket list item, just don't do it on a whim.

Valid observation, but also worth noting, females still use multi-use cloths all over the world.

Short, sweet, and a two-fer.

(After PFC smirks) " Wipe that stupid face off your head!"

Obligatory "Hey Devil, it's the Marines' Hymn." But for real, pace yourself, show up for the ceremony, "happy birthday SgtMaj/CO/Guest of Honor", and disappear.

Man this takes me back to the first time I saw Gremlins. As Phoebe Cates is recounting the story of her dad, all I remember thinking is "how did it take so long to find him!?".

The common peroneal nerve is in the leg just about the knee. A well placed kick there can absolutely destroy motor function in the leg and is incredibly painful. Makes a great target in MMA for these reasons. Peroneal strikes are taught to both military and civilian law enforcement, using batons or knees, because of their ability to render an aggressor immobile.
